Just a few comments on the Sprint PCS Vision service..
I got the Samsung A500 phone from CostCo (best deal IMHO).. and I was able to activate my phone without too much trouble (I only had to wait 5 hours and talk to 3 sprint reps to do it).
The phone itself has a few cool games bundled with it:
Sega's Monkey Ball -- this is the best game
Space Invaders -- this game was ok.. true to the classic
Some racing game -- this game blows
Of course, the main reason I got the phone was to surf the web! So, I didn't waste any time getting to the Sprint PCS homepage (from my home PC) to activate my Vision account. This was all pretty easy.. and I was soon able to login to the web via the A500.
But, I was not impressed with the web content AT ALL! I think sprint jumped the gun on the release of their service. They don't really have much to offer once you get online. Well, I take that back.. they have a crap load of screensavers and ringers and games you can download.. but most of them are from $1.00-$4.00 each and they EXPIRE after a while so you have to re-download them! How lame! Some of them are free.. but not that many. Also, I was expecting to surf the web as I would on a PC - nope.. The web surfing is limited.. not all sites work.. but it is better than the WAP 1.0 phone browsers.. although since those sites have been around longer the content is organized a whole lot better.
Needless to say I was kind of dissapointed.. and I was thinking about returning the phone. Then, I came across some VERY cool websites were you can download all sorts of stuff.. games, J2ME apps, ringers, wallpapers.. etc. etc..

http://www.tagtag.com/visiondir <-- go there with the phone (better homepage than sprint's)
Anyway, after checking out some of these sites.. I downloaded a full-fledge html capable web browser app that runs on the phone and now i can surf the web and go to almost any site. The only problem now is tha you run outof space on the phone pretty quickly.. even going to some basic web pages.. there just isn't enough memory to hold a full web page and it's pictures.
I guess I may have had some high expectations about the new sprint vision service. But, I blame it on Sprint because they have been hyping it up a lot Eventhough I was kind of let down initially.. I think I am going to stick with this service because there are a lot third party sites developing for it and I think the speed is pretty good on the web access. Also, once I get the usb connectivity kit I can use it with my laptop (in theory).
Hope my ramblings helped some people decide if they want this or not. It's definitely the coolest phone/service you can get right now.
