>>>You people that bought them and sold them on ebay are pricks. Did you consider maybe other people wanted them and could actually use them?<<<

Yes...other people wanted them...that's why they went on EBAY...and now the people that wanted them enough to pay for them have them :Q

telemarketer-"is so and so there"
you-"who's calling?"
telemarketer-"sprint"
you-"he doesn't live here anymore, so stop calling!"

always works for me.

Thanks a ton!
This thread made the cancellation process relatively painless for me.
Appreciate the help!

i've asked this before, but for some reason or the other I don't think it was replied to (or maybe i don't remember, which is more likely) --- do we HAVE to cancel them? I used mine a bit, the reception absolutely sucked so I sold it on ebay (to be honest I wouldn't have kept the service, as I have verizon, so I ended up paying $50 over the weekend on a cable to connect my timeport to my laptop).

I was always under the impression that it just stopped working after the trial...

I had a friend who got one of these from me that had not been deactivated, and was still registered to the number on the box, in my name and address on the website. You enter the phone number of your account from the box and password and it will give all your account details. This card he got had expired with free minutes (2500), and would not work any longer, but when he tried to activate it in his SprintPCS account, they told him since it had not been deactivated of my number, he could not activate it until I did so. I did following the previous instructions in this thread (or was it another on this topic?), and he was able to activate it then. Those people who bought them already pre-activated (as you received them) on fleabay etc. may be using the modem under your demo account with the free minutes, but when they stop working and they need to activate it, they will surely run into trouble from my experiences. Besides, who wants an open account out there open in your name (or alias) and address. You should deactivate before selling or giving it to someone or chance running into problems later on when they want to use it past the demo time.

if sprint calls tell them the truth, these modems are so slow that you'll only consider using them if sprint pays for the time you waste waiting for web sites to load.

I also think such people are pricks. They just dont want to admit what greedy a$$es they are.
If I was a greedy prick, I would at least admit to it.

So let me get this straight ... anything that we have that we don't want/need ... we should offer for free to members of this message board? Who's the greedy one now?

Nice try to lump everyone that Ebayed this, into a group that fits your perception, wrong as it is.

OK, I admit it, I got in on a crappy, useless slow modem just to Ebay it...and the $130 that I made went to pay down my nearly-6-figures of credit card debt that's been hanging over my life for the past 5 1/2 years...so yes, I am a greedy a$$. I guess if I just filed bankruptcy and screwed the credit card companies out of $80,000.00 (resulting in higher credit card fees for you), instead of trying to work my way out of it, I would be considered a good American.

Every one of us has their own reasons for doing what they do; there is nothing immoral or otherwise wrong with getting something and selling it.

I am greedy. I admit it. Fortunately greed is good, according to one of those John Stossel specials about 3 years back.

Yeah, ouch...incurred through futures market losses in 1994. Most people would have filed bankruptcy with that kind of debt, long ago...I got it down to $55,000.00 over the past year, mostly via my greedy Ebay activities...and this week some major $ finally came through for me after a 2 year battle, and I'll be down to $13,000 by the end of the month. Happy ending, or close to it

u won't beleive the luck i have. i shorted Excite.com, then the whole internet bubble kept growing. margin call.... blam nearly lose the house. man that sucker went up incredibly fast when @home decided to merge with them, it was a cold day in febuary and $20k loss on that single day alone. well after all said and done i'm out $90k.... and then we all know what happened next. the bubble burst and I SHOULD have made money but ya know how the market never really makes sense anyway.... well atleast excite@home is dead and i'm glad.

I got in on this deal and am using the incredibly slow modem with my ipaq3135 occasionally. When my free minutes run out I will most certainly not sign up for sprint service. However, I have no problems with deactivating it and selling it on eBay. Nor do I see anything wrong with those who sold these on eBay without using their free minutes.

To the original poster who wanted to know how to stop them from calling.
Simply state "Put me on your 'do not call list'"
Very simple. Under USA law they must comply with your request. See www.privacy.net for more info if
you are interested.

I really don't see anything wrong with those getting these 'free' and then fleabaying them. It's capitalism
at work. An offer was made to you (free modem), you accepted the offer with their stipulatiions. As long as
you adhere to their stipulations then you are free to do with the product as you wish.

An offer made. An offer accepted. Deal done. Contract consummated. Simple

Agreed 100%, Omagh. I guess those that are moaning don't live in a capitalist country...or if they do, perhaps they would prefer life in a non-capitalist country.
