<< what are people doing about Sprint calling? >>

Hell, I'd love it if they *did* call! I've been trying off and on for the past two weeks to get in contact with someone in the New York Metro regional sales office but every time, I get a different person's voicemail. I ask them to call me back to cancel the account but never do they return the call. I've even said I'll return the modem in hopes that that'll get a reply, but no dice. I'll fly through the roof if the account stays active and I get a bill.

I seriously got in on this deal for the trial service and not for the modem itself but if they don't want the modem back, selling looks even better than before.

I tried to cancel the account and they sent me to the Sprint PCS store to show two forms of id. Then I had to call them back and then they told me that they couldn't do anything over the phone. So the only advice was to reply back to the emails Sprint sent me. So I still have no clue how to cancel the account.

My rep may not be your rep on your account, so I can't give up their #. But check your account by going to http://www.sprintpcs.com and log in using the phone# on your box and WWMDEMO and it will tell you if your account is still active, and from what I'm understanding, the account doesn't just expire in two months. I was originally told something like that through Sprint PCS customer service, but then the rep for the modem clarified it for me that your account just does not "cease to exist". I don't know about you, but I don't need any open accounts floating around.

Can someone help me find the number on the box? I've tried every single possible number and none of them work...this is getting so frustrating. :|

Since I have spent time over the last 3 days trying to get my modem deactivated, I'll post the information to save someone else the time and the ordeal of getting transferred around by clueless service people.

Call the "wireless web/modem tech department" at 1-888-298-0756 and tell them you need to "deactivate your demo aircard that you received from for a 60-day trial". They are going to want to transfer you to 1-877-789-3969, which is the business accounts department. That's fine, but ask them to stay on the line and help you out because you've had trouble getting this taken care of. My agent (Brett) stayed on the line the entire time.

You'll have to provide either the phone number for the modem or the Wireless Web account number you received in the original confirmation email from sprint. You'll also have to add two 0's in front of that account number or it won't pull up in the system.

Again, tell them it's a demo aircard and you need to deactivate it. If they ask for the password on the account, tell them it's a demo aircard and the password should be WWDEMO.

This should be enough information to get you taken care of. Once I reaced 1-888-298-0756 I was in good hands.

Thanks,
Jeoff

You people that bought them and sold them on ebay are pricks. Did you consider maybe other people wanted them and could actually use them? No morals...

i just cancelled the card.

here's what i did:

call the first number listed on the forum and ask for the manager to cancel the card. the reps don't have the authority to cancel it.

transferring to the 2nd number (national accts) won't help. When i first called, I was transferred but the national accts rep couldn't do it since they don't deal w/ demo accts.

HTH.

btw, the customer # (customer P/0 NO.) should be on the invoice/packing slip that you received w/ the phone.

Is there anyway to get one of these now? I saw the deal a while ago, but didnt need it so I didnt order it (no point being greedy, shame on those who are), but now both my brother and myself own Ipaq's, and we both have Sprint PCS phones, so I could actually use something like this. I already have a thousand extra weekend and night minutes, so paying just $10 a month extra would be cool to use those minutes up on my handheld.

I'd still like to try it out first (free trails are nice, and there for a purpose), anyone know if you can get in on this trial thing now? What was the original url to sign up? It looks like the original thread was killed.

update: Found it, deal is more than over

i've asked this before, but for some reason or the other I don't think it was replied to (or maybe i don't remember, which is more likely) --- do we HAVE to cancel them? I used mine a bit, the reception absolutely sucked so I sold it on ebay (to be honest I wouldn't have kept the service, as I have verizon, so I ended up paying $50 over the weekend on a cable to connect my timeport to my laptop).

I was always under the impression that it just stopped working after the trial...
