stfu. good thread--here are some more tips:
1) document dead spots and dropped calls. they generally give you credits for loss of service.
2) be aware of the competition and use it to compare against your current service.
3) things you can ask for: PCS-to-PCS, 1st incoming minute free, earlier evening time (like 8 pm), more anytime minutes, lower monthly payment, free month of service, free vision or voice calling, free credits towards new phone.
4) make yourself a good candidate for retention: i signed up for automatic bill pay and i am going to wait a min of 6 months before i go to retention. they will want to play ball then even with my contract.
5) be firm and just tell them the truth: "you are disappointed with aspects of your service and were thinking about another carrier. what can you do to keep my business?"
with the number portability act hopefully coming soon, that will seriously increase the level of competition and improve service.
