the national network plan the way i see it has a .69cents per minute roaming charge. plus you need to sign a 2 yr contract *ugh*

This is the plan I currently have. It's no roaming as long as you're on ATT's network, and since they have coverage in most major cities (check out the coverage map) you'll probably be ok unless you travel to places like DeQueen, Arkansas on a regular basis. If you sign up just for a 1 year contract, you get 3000 nights and weekends instead of unlimited. Night times start at 9:00pm though, which is the only bummer compared to Sprint's retention plans.

Must one say the magic sentence "I'm thinking of cancelling" to make the CS transfer you to retention? Or will a few complaints about service, reception, or dropped calls get you the transfer?

Just did the task and I think I got a good deal

650anytime
2150 nights and weekends @ 8pm (was going to try to get more, but i never use this much anyways)
500 pcs to pcs
1st incoming free
no contract

39.99

CSR was offering similar with 1000/3000 for 49.99 but that's more than i'll ever used....rather save the $10

DID I DO GOOD?

Any tips for people whose contracts are actually about to expire? =) Hehehe....I'm gonna make those bastards pay bigtime for overcharging me last time on some BS excuse about data minutes counting as wireless web even if you have your own ISP...bastards charged some obscene rate too...running my bill well past $150.

But they will pay MUHAHAHHAAH

Just a survey kind of question: what are your guys' lengths of time with Sprint? Who here has succeeded in getting a retention plan while being with sprint for the shortest time?

Ok, for those of you who got retention plans after days or weeks of service, how the hell did you guys do it? They're instructed not to give plans for people like that. Is it easier for new customers to get retention plans?

I got screwed!!!
I have been a SH*T PCS customer for 4 years!!! I have not been on a contract in 2 years!
I called, told them that I want to cancel.
They said they couldn't offer me better than What I already had.
1250 after 8pm
250 anytime.
$34.99!!!
well I told them go JUMP in a lake. I can get a verison phone for the same with 750 anytime plus 2000 after 8pm!!!!

As soon as I sign up with them, tomorrow when their rep comes to visit, SPRINT PCS can go to HELL in a handbasket!!!
plus I am taking all 4 of my family and friends that signed up because of me with me!!!

I do not havea phone currently, was planning to get an old one from a friend... ( me == poor ). Her contract expires either this month, or the next.... so my question is whether I will be able to get into this retention plan.... and what does it take to change my ph. no.?

Try to have her get a retention plan right after her contract expires. Then go to a Sprint Store and change over the ownership and responsibility of the phone over to you.

My suggestion was that she sign a retention contract for a year and then transfer the phone with the plan over to you so there would be a one-year contract you would have to take over.

I guess you could try to reactivate the phone after she has disconnected the service, but I'm not sure about your luck getting a retention plan as a newly activated customer. It seems like some here have had luck though.

Am I getting shafted here? I've been on an old plan for about a year w/o contract with Sprint, so I called to cancel and get a retention plan with the following:

500 anytime
3000 weekend/night starts at 8pm
500 pcs2pcs
first month free
$150 credit
for $35.99/month

I just logon to check my account and the plan they have listed on there is:

500 anytime
1000 weekend/night
no 500 pcs2pcs
for $35.99/month

WTH? Anyone has this problem? This is pissing me off. If I decide to cancel my service, will I be penalize for breaking the 1 year commitment contract? I mean, when I agree to the contract I was under the impression that I am getting the above package. Wouldn't it be them breaching the contract first since it's their error. Since it's their error, wouldn't the contract be null and void and I am not liable to the 1 year commitment. It's late now, I am going to call CS tomorrow and see what's up...

Don't worry about it. My says the same thing. Check it again later. You will see "2000 NIGHT & WEEKEND MINUTES" as an additional part of your services summary.

I called and told them I was a regular cingular subscriber and I was merely kicking sprint's tires to see if there was an improvement. There wasn't, but it wasn't any worse either. So I said either give me a competitive plan or I was going to stay with cingular.

I was dumb and didn't take the first offer made to me, because as it turns out it shouldn't have been offered. Apparently sprint doesn't offer retention plans for accounts younger than 30 days. I called back maybe 5 times before I was able to persuade a girl to give me the deal I mention above.

Persistence is all I'm trying to say. Call, and call and call..

But you call with the fake intent of cancelling. If you don't like the CS and they're not giving you anything, how are you gonna just say "I'm not gonna cancel now, bye."
