Sprint can bite me. If there's a company that does less than Sprint to satisfy customers, I can't think of it. The moment my 1-year contract is up, I'm out. What do people think of Cingular, AT&T, Voicestream or Verizon wireless? What about T-mobile?
I said the same thing and agree about the customer service. The problem for me was none of the other companies were very good in the Bay Area and none of them could beat Sprints rates. The good news is how often do you really need to contact Sprints Customer Service, at least thats the way I looked at it.
At&t has far better coverage in the bay area compared to anyone except maybe verizion who has probably about the same coverage.
This deal everyone is talking about sounds pretty week, especially if you can't get it because you haven't been with them long enough. With At&t you can change your plan
anytime and you can
always take advantage of any current plan promotions!
At&t's current promotions include:
National netowork $34.99(basically it gives you no roaming charges where At&t has owened and operated towers, basically the major cities)
500 anytime minutes (6am-9pm)
unlimited nights and weekends w/2yr and again you are agreeing to service not the paln so you can change that anytime (3000 n/w for 1yr)
either 500 local M2M (basically any At&t wireless user in your home area) or 250 national M2M (any at&t wireless user) if you choose the 1 yr you don't get these options
No long distance charges
Digital advantage $39.99 (depends on where you are at but for california it means no roaming while in CA or parts of Nevada like Reno and Las Vegas, no roaming in parts of Arizona (mostly the major cities) and no roaming in Hawaii
600 anytime (6am-9pm)
unlimited nights and weekends w/2yr or 3000 with 1yr
either 500 local M2M (see above for explanation) or free nationwide long distance (these are available when you do a two yr contract extension)
All that and At&t was rated #1 according to JD Powers.
As far as the other companies go;
People in the bay area hate cingular, they just don't have the coverage and their customer service sucks! T-mobile uses cingulars network so the service is the same however they have better plans and I've heard they have better customer service (voicestream is T-mobile).
Verizon isn't bad as far as service and their customer service is ok.
If you want all the bells and whistles GSM/GPRS have to offer then just wait till At&t launch their GSM network and no it doesn't use anyone elses towers!
