Oh, and Sprint sucks.

I'm wondering why nobody's followed with the "roll over" minutes that Cingular has

mmmm. Here's for hoping that AT&T and Verizon follow Sprint. I haven't had 7pm night time minutes since mid 2002.

Verizon won't change since they have the best service and really don't need to lure people in since everyone knows they are getting the best coverage with them.

This is good news, timswim.
I was just looking at Sprint but was turned off by the "free" hours as I'm currently on the green couch unlimited minutes Plan.

Sprint was real good to me for several years and I found the service mostly acceptable.

Right now I am on a retention plan with them.
750 AT Minutes
3000 NW Minutes
8PM NW Start Time
$40 a month.

I am going to call tonight and see if they can hook me up with something a little better than this. Maybe a new phone or vision?

LD on that particular plan is only from your local calling area so no a great deal if you travel away from home area.

LOL! Yeah, my cell provider X owns your provider Y. (When I switch to provider Y next year, swap X and Y in the previous sentence).

I've been a customer of Sprint's for 5 years, before they were even PCS, they were "spectrum". I've gone through all kinds of CS and system problems, including 'automatic payment' that was pulling out $500 out of my bank at a time....then had to deal with CS to try and get $ back. On top of that, I've had problems straightening out what my plan was supposed to be....and why they were billing me wrong.

All the mean while I've stayed on a very very crappy old plan because I never really wanted to commit to another year or more. Recently I just tried getting a new phone and plan and was horrifically disappointed with the way Sprint doesn't allow CS to offer anything more for someone who has been for sprint for 5 years, or 5 weeks (750/3000 is the standard 'retention' plan that any CS can offer).

I was told I wasn't eligible for a $130 rebate for a new phone because I had switched my phone within the past 18 months (I switched to a 'new-to-me' phone from my friend because my old phone died).

So now I've bought a new phone, and switched to a new company. I got a new bluetooth phone for free (Sprint wouldn't offer me that nor do they have bluetooth), a new wireless bluetooth headset, and a plan that is better than Sprint's retention (debatable). (see my post about t-mobile from further back).

But to get away from Sprint and their horrible customer relations.....that should be a visa commercial because it is truly priceless.

That was a MasterCard commercial, hehe.

This offer, like most, is only for NEW customers and if you want it as an EXISTING customer you will pay an additional $5.00 a month for the privilege.

I guess as the Wireless Local Number Portability date of November 24, 2003 grows closer they are doing what they can to lock in new customers keep current customers . I wonder if the deals will be will better before or after that date ?

currently i'm on the 300 min peak, 1800 min off peak, and 500 pcs-to-pcs, for $30. i pretty much don't qualify for any of these deals. but, i admit that i'm getting a pretty decent deal with them. but, once the # portability thing comes into play i think that i will switch carriers, (my sanyo 4900 keeps dropping calls even though it's supposed to be "one of the best" for reception), unless sprint gives me a FREE new phone...
