I agree with azncarjunkie. For me, Sprint has sucked out loud. I live in Boston and the coverage is bad, bad bad. Well, there's coverage, but it goes in and out, so half of your call is in silence. Good if you and the person at the other end of the line have ESP, but otherwise I've personally found it hardly usable. I upgraded to the top sanyo phone (with reputation for best reception) but it still sucked so I returned the phone. Plus, customer service in Boston SUCKS!! The guys at the Harvard Ave store are rude and slow, and there are usually only two of them despite hoards of people waiting in line. Then there are random managers that occasionally walk in and out of the back, ignoring customers all the while. Sorry this is a bit OT, but even if they made nights start at noon, this would still not make sprint a hot deal IMHO. Not to thread crap though...

This is a very popular retention plan. I have it, too. If you're out of contract, and wish you had a better plan, I'd call them up and tell them you want to cancel. I called them, told them I was going with AT&T because they have free promotion deals for Motorolla v60i, and provide 600 minutes for $40 a month.

I was offered the above deal instantly, along with $100 for a phone. I only had to lock into a one-year deal, which is nothing. I live in the northern Bay Area, and Sprint is just as good as any other service. Verizon here is nothing special, with AT&T probably scoring slightly higher than the rest.

Ive had this plan for 2 years at 35.99. But add 500 pcs minutes.

I got a retention plan even though I was a new subscriber, I only had my phone 2 days.

My plan:

1000 AT Minutes
3000 NW Minutes
500 PCS to PCS
8PM NW Start Time
$50 a month.

It always amazes me why people make statements like this! Has it ever occurred to you that Verizons coverage may SUCK in one persons area and Sprints might be good there? Verizon may have better overall coverage or may have a larger coverage area BUT it varies widely by the area you live in. Get the service that best covers the area you live in. I get really tired of these silly arguements.

It is true based on the posted link info which states:

"Use your minutes to call to anywhere in the U.S. from anywhere in your extended coverage area while on the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network."

Obviously there are exceptions (as in your case maybe a retention plan) but the standard offer states LD is only from the "home calling area."

"Begin" charging? You may want to check your bill because they have already started charging the $1.10 per line per month for Federal Wireless Number Pooling And Portability.

free phone sex... cool. btw, i jumped in on the standard retention plan. i also got sprint vision free for 3 months and a free month of service. only had my plan 5 months. i'll try again in another 6 months when sprint adds "push-to-talk walkie-talkie" feature and i need to get a new phone.

Cingular's protection is definitely not a copyright. Maybe a patent, but not a copyright.
