Saw that! I'm thinking of switching... Palm Pre here I come?!?!?!! Of course that won't happen until January when my contract with AT&T ends. BTW, here's a tip, if you had the plan to your cart then click on "remove all plans" or whatever from your basket, they will give you an additional $50 credit to your month invoice.

Seems reasonable. Though I wonder how much it is to add a line (probably another $70). Also Sprint's coverage here sucks

sprint does offer a lot of features for the $ but i haven't heard one good thing about them locally (central fla)

i had verizon for a few years, worked great, but switched to at&t for the iphone around march and no complaints on at&t here.

They can give me unlimited everything for 2 bucks a month, doesn't change the fact their service sucks. I was going to switch to them a few weeks ago until just about 100% of the people that I know have it said DON'T do it.

I mean, why would a cell phone carrier have good service in the most densely populated state in the country anyway?

That's strange. They have roaming agreements with verizon so I've never had an issue with coverage (mass resident here).

I've had sprint for the past 5 years. Yes the coverage is spotty in some places but I can roam for free. Plus being on the $30 SERO plan helps me stay w/ them. Now if only they'll lower the price on the Touch Pro 2...

Forget the TP2... get the Hero (that is, if it works on Sero)

Actually yea i wouldn't mind the Hero if they allow it on Sero. I wonder if the Pixie will be allowed, that's the closest i'm gonna get to WebOS

People just knock Sprint cus it's cool due but they did deserve it for a long time. Sprint's coverage is miles above AT&T and like you said able to roam on Verizon for the best coverage anywhere and you pay the least compared to the other two. Tmobile doesn't count cus their coverage still leaves something to be desired.

I have a legitimate reason for hating the guts out of Sprint. I was opening a store in Hillsboro, TX, and wanted to have a single mobile number for everything, rather than having a land line + mobile line / forwarding. I went to the closest Sprint store in Waco (same area code, very close by, less than 20 minutes away) .. and asked SPECIFICALLY if I could get a local number for Hillsboro. They said yes, no problem, so I signed up for a new line (I was already a Sprint customer, having had a Dallas line for several years). So now that I had the number, I could file it with the local SBC Yellow pages for my ad, run newspaper ads, get fliers/business cards made, get my signage made, and so on. I do all of this, and also get the final construction modifications to the building, which takes about a month in total. Then I find out when I move out there, that the number they personally guaranteed would be LOCAL to Hillsboro was in fact a number ONLY local to Waco, and was long distance for anyone in Hillsboro.

I think okay, well that sucks, but at least they can cancel this number so I can just get a landline + forwarding to my existing cell right? So I call, and they tell me, sorry sir it's been 33 days since you got the account, you have to pay a $200 (might have been $300, can't remember now) fee to disconnect, plus the charge for the phone unless it's still in a sealed box. I was like WTF, 1st off the guy at the store took the phone out of the package to make sure it connected to the network, second I was promised a local line, third I've never even used the damned phone, 4th I've been a loyal Sprint customer for years. I spent days bouncing back from one asshole to the next at Sprint, and never ONCE was anyone either courteous or helpful. They were assholes from top to bottom. Fuck them, I hope they burn, and I've turned dozens of people towards better service. I now have MetroPCS, unlimited calls/txt/data for $35/mo, with an unlocked phone of my choosing.

EDIT : My $35/mo unlimited hookup is exactly half the price of those assholes at Sprint. Yay.

I had Sprint before and the cell coverage sucks in FL. I guess the truth hurts.

Sprint is now a lot better than people think. Give it a second look and don't listen to your friends opinions because they were more than likely formed prior to the turnaround.

Meh, I've been with Sprint since 09/2002 and have never had any issue regarding coverage/billing/etc.

Coverage will always be a case by case basis but it's the truth that Sprint is #2 in coverage and can roam on Verizon's network to have pretty much the best coverage in the USA.

Sprint today plans to unveil a new calling plan ? ?Any Mobile, Anytime? -- that offers unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling to the USA?s 250 million cellphone users.

Hmmmmmm...... Theres only 300 million people in America, including folks who arent citizens. Are they trying to tell me that 5/6th of EVERYONE here has a cell phone? We know darn well theres a huge population of WW2 and Baby Boomers and I know they all dont have cell phones. Even the ones that could probably figure out how to use them dont necessarily own one. And I dont think too many toddlers have them, though I wont argue that an assload of grade-schoolers seem to be using them now.

Are they counting all the cell phones that have EVER been activated? Cuz most folks go through a lot but only keep one at a time.

Like I said.

According the govt., there are approximately 250 million actual Americans. Plus 50 million visitors of various sorts.
Thats still only 300 million.

Looks to be just a tick over 300mill people.

Another link to being just over 300mill people

This makes their number quite believable.

I pay $30 / month. It's probably the most liberating $30 I pay. Because I pay so little, I don't care when my coverage is a little shoddy, a call or two gets dropped, or the fact that they have awful customer service. The way I see it, Sprint is paying me $70 / month to use their service.

I have no reasons to complain.

I switched from VZW to get the Pre and haven't noticed any problems in either DC or Atlanta (where I work during the week). I've also had AT&T and the Sprint network is heads and shoulders above AT&T in those 2 areas. I was worried at first since I've also heard a lot of bad things about Sprint, but so far things have been great.
