I've been using firefox for a couple weeks now and have been happy with it for the most part. Recently, I've noticed a lot of websites trying to load when going from page to page. This is slowing down the browser, and from the little I've been able to see, they're spyware. One I caught was pointroll.com, which is definaltly an ad site.
I use ad-aware and spybot on a regular basis. Since using firefox, niether of these apps seems to be working correctly. Spybot quit updating, and I had to re-install it to get the update function back. Both apps, after running them a few times, come back with zero results. Now that at first seemed like a good thing; Firefox is so good it's preventing spyware from installing, at least that's what I was hoping for. Now, I'm concerned that something has prevented these apps from doing their jobs.
Has anyone else noticed similar problems lately? I'm almost positive I have spyware on this PC because of all the ad sites that keep loading/trying to load. It's really getting aggrivating, and nothing I do with spybot or ad-aware seems to help. Are there any other apps out there I can try to help fix this? I'm thinking maybe there are some new tricks the spyware people have come up to foil Firefox, since it's popularity has been growing so much lately.
