E3 is starting, Square Enix just had their press conference gamespot link.

Biggest news probably is FF13, also announced new Dragon Quest games (one will be a wii launch title), a bunch of other FF stuff like ff3 for the DS, and crystal chronicles games for ds and wii.

This is going to be a very exciting week!

Sony press conference is at 4 pacific and gamespot is offering a free live stream.
Nintendo and Microsoft events are tomorrow.

So what is everyone here looking forward to seeing at e3?

They mentioned October.

1:06 COO Daishiro Okada is now on stage discussing the upcoming lineup. Final Fantasy XII will be out October of this year. Finally. Also some mobile stuff. Space Invaders? Elevator Action? Dirge of Cerberus: Lost Episodes also on mobile this summer.

a few years ago i never thought i would ever get tired of FF games. FFX proved me wrongon that. I couldn't even finish the game I was so bored with it. I think I got maybe half way through.

how many FF games do we need anyway? at least make a 2nd title like FF14: Yet Another Rehash of the Same Old Crap!

I really haven't cared for FF games in a long time. FFVII and VIII destroyed all faith I had on that franchise. I love IV and VI, but the post-Nintendo era FFs don't do it for me anymore.

And I find it funny how (yet again) they are trying to pass what obviously is pre-rendered graphics as being rendered in real time. When the PS2 was announced about 6 years ago, Square/Sony showed off some of the cinematics from FFVIII (more specifically, the dance scene), and claimed that they were being rendered in real-time on a PS2. Haha, yeah, right. We now know the PS2 is not even CLOSE to being able to do that kind of stuff. Heck, probably not even the X-Box 360 would be able to do that, 6 years later.

And yet they once again set up smoke and mirrors to tease the FF fanboys. (As well as those COD 3 pics, supposedly in real time...how long till they reveal ACTUAL in game footage that shows the game to look barely better -or perhaps even worse- than current PC games?)

Actually, I haven't had much interest post-PS. I entered too late to 'get into' I, loved II and III (US) via emulators; similarly 'dug' VII and IX, found VIII mediocre. I bought both X and X-2, thought the first 'adequate' and the second I never even came close to finishing (Let's play dressup! I think they switched their target demographic for that title).

Had absolutely no interest in XI. And I'm not expecting much of XII or XIII, so my participation in the series is probably at an end, except replaying the old titles.

The FF number is so high that I don't even pay attention any more. It's time for something new Square...

Oh, and if anyone can tell me how to write out 'Final Fantasy Eleventy-Billion' in roman numerals I would appreciate it.
