SSD-AHCI on Marvell 9128/SATA 3

Need to do Win 7 Pro clean install on new SSD (no raid). SATA 3 ports on GA-P55A-UD3 are only available via Marvell 9128 Chip. I will not be using AHCI on Intel chipset SATA ports.

Which, if any of the following drivers are required:

1) Intel SATA Preinstall driver (For AHCI / RAID Mode)

2) Marvell Console Driver (SATA3)

3) Marvell RAID Utility (SATA3)

SATA 3 needs clarification
There is
SATA II SATA III
SATA 6G SATA 3G
SATA 2 SATA 3 (enduser callout)

So we are talking about Marvel 9128 SATA 6G ports (2)
All you need is Marvel drivers
I have done extensive benching with Marvel and SSD and it is really crap UNLESS you use 1.2.0.1027 drivers (latest). Even so these are 20% slower than Intel 6G.
1027 drivers come with Marvel MSU (Marvel storage utility) which used to be known as MRU (Marvel RAID utility)
So you install the 1027 with MSU then uninstall the MSU because it interferes with Realtek

To install Marvel as SSD O/S booting drive you need:
Marvel enabled in onboard devices
Marvel OPROM enabled in onboard devices
Force bios on boot page set as option
9128 drivers installed
THEN plug in SSD to Marvel
Booting to bios will then allow detection and you may set boot order
Once you get going you should be able to set keep current on boot page and disable the marvel oprom so you dont have to look at the marvel orom screen at boot
