I've read dozens of articles and can't seem to get to the root of my problem. I recently bought a crucial m4 256gb ssd. I did a fresh install of windows 7 on it which from what I read, should have properly aligned it, but it is not aligned. I know it is not aligned properly because I checked the partition starting offset and it is 32356 bytes, which is not evenly divisible by 4096.
Ok, so I try to use utilities like GParted Live to fix the offset, but the screens I see are nothing like what the tutorials describe. This leads me to believe the tutorials are outdated or GParted Live has been updated since the tutorials were written.
All this being said, can someone explain or point me to a place where there is a clear explanation for how to realign from recent? Thanks.
