As an FYI, the M500 is also available for $140 at Amazon.
BTW, are those Seagate 600 SSDs in your sig rig? You list them as Samsungs.
Also, nice job scoring that Pro V Edition. That was an incredible deal - must have been a special run, because it was never restocked at Newegg after it sold out.
This is from Best SSDs: Holiday 2013 by Kristian Vättö:Somewhat OT, but being an SSD deal thread, I think it fits: what's the opinion on reliability nowadays? A few years ago it seemed like Intel was probably the best in that regard, are these things getting better? It's the main reason I haven't gone in for an SSD thus far, seemed like there were too many SSD's back then just magically deciding not to work for people one morning.
Also, you might want to read what Anand wrote regarding the endurance of the Samsung EVO line. You might have heard this earlier, but having an SSD is what matters, the brand and model are secondary. That is especially true now that we no longer have completely awful SSDs in the market -- most drives in the market are pretty good but that doesn't mean some aren't better than the others

There isn't any question that TLC (what the Samsung Evos use) isn't as robust at MLC, but notposting was asking if what's out there now is good enough. I'm thinking it (including the Evos) probably is.Even TLC-based offerings should have more than enough endurance to handle what the vast majority of consumers will throw at them ... I would have no qualms about using TLC-based SSDs in my own systems, but I would check the SMART attributes periodically to keep an eye out for reallocated sectors.
It's not like you have a lot of choice...So, what's the best 1TB SSD to buy now? So I can watch for a sale.
Add this one to the OP list:
Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
$69.99 after $20 off w/ promo code SSDKING20, ends 1/2
Do you think these SSD prices will stay low for a few months.
The last time I saw such low priced SSDs was when the 830 were going out.
I wouldn't be surprised if 240-256GB drives dropped to $100 or less by the end of this year.
I'd be shocked if they didn't to be honest. I'm already seeing 240gb's on sale around 160ish. Considering I paid around 100$ for my 64GB in 2011, It's not hard to see $100 for 240gb
What I want to see though is the price on 64gb drives drop to the point where everyone will using cached HDDs

Yes please! I would love to have a 32GB or 64GB SSD as a cache drive! However, they are awfully expensive compared to a 120-240GB SSD...
Exactly. The cheapest one I looked into was roughly 40-50$ for a 32gb. I'd really love a 32gb SSD for under 30$, or a 64GB for under 50$.
I'd never move back to uncached drives
