I want some input if a SSD purchase is right for my system. Known problems or the like that would prevent me from getting best speeds.
I was going to buy OCZ Technology 120 GB Vertex 2 Series SATA II 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive (SSD) OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G drive.
I know its SATA 2 mobo i have..
I play games (FPS, MMO), watch movies/music/websurf, etc from this computer. All my media is on Windows Home Server i stream to this system.
Mostly I'm wondering is the purchase worthwhile for me?
Would i see close to advertised speeds?
Would it be worth it to wait for next gen SSD drives, or do they just offer bigger space for the most part? I don't want to be in a situation if i upgrade mobo/cpu down the line (sometimes next year) that my SSD drive speeds would be half the speed because SATA 3 comes out)
System:
Mobo: Asus P5Q-E (P45 chipset) (Rev 1.xx)
CPU: Core2quad Q9550 2,833 MHz
ram: 8gigs DDR2 800mhz
video: GTX 460 1gig (850 O/C)
