Good article. I have a Crucial M4 64GB in my main system. It's my most used and oldest SSD. smartctl reports I currently have 28404 hours on it, and have only used 5% of it's life.
I question whether any of these "optimizations" really have a point with modern SSDs and modern kernels. Like all the places that talk about putting noatime or relatime in fstab, despite the fact that relatime is already the default since like 2007.
