Rumor has it that Radio Shack is dropping the price on the Ipaq 3635 to $349.95 beginning on 12/5. There is a $150 Compaq Rebate on this PDA.

PM Staples to Ratshack, use a $40 off $200 (can be found), and you have yourself a very decent color Windows PDA for $160 or so. The 3635 includes a CF sleeve as well.

The problem at this point may be finding Radio Shacks or Staples with the 3635 in stock...

No solid confirmation as yet, just a rumor from "a friend of a friend of an insider". I guess we'll see on 12/5. Price drop should effect both B&M and online prices, but many Radio Shacks locations have a hard time getting PDAs in stock. YMMV.

As long as the online price reflects the drop, we should be set for a Staples excursion.

It's been off their site for a while..this is an in-store PM if you can find them. I believe some local CC's still have them as well (mine does), but I'm unclear on their PM policy. Anyone know if CC (or BB) is a possibility here?

i just called 1/2 a dozen stores (staples) around me..there is 1 store that has a display unit that manager will part with for $522 or 549 and a free exyended warranty ? do any of you think its worth driving 30 miles and trying to price match ? i would really love to get this for 370 - 40 - 150 = 180 inc of taxes and an extended warranty

OMFG ! radioshck is a part of the msn eshop ...so technically we can buy it straight off radioshach with a passport purchase and then get 60 back thro msn !

As far as I know, this only applies to product-specific coupons. You can still combine PM and general dollar-off coupons. I may be wrong.

That WOULD be cool--but as someone already mentioned, Radio Shack is not a participating merchant. Staples would still seem to be the best deal.

Even just going for a straight-up Radio Shack purchase, this still isn't a bad deal. $200 for this Ipaq without much effort is a good price. Anything less is a major bonus. Staples PM seems to be the best deal at the moment.

This all assumes, of course, that the Radio Shack pricing rumor is true

i may be wrong ..but the msn rebate page says ..valid in eshop or purchase at any participating retailer.. i clicked on the pda tab and found 3635 in radioshack on the eshop. i added the pda to my cart and my cart even shows the passport express check out.

Radioshack does is NOT one of the participating retailers for the Holiday Reward. It is however part of the MSN eshop site. Only a few stores participate in the Holiday Reward program. The list of participating stores can be seen here

That wording IS confusing, but I've asked their "live online reps" this question a couple of times. They state that ONLY the sites listed in the "participating merchants" section qualify for the rebates. Radio Shack is not among them, unfortunately...just messaged them again and asked point blank if RS was included. Nope.

I have a feeling that the sentence you refer to ("Find things to buy on MSN eShop or any participating store's site") is confusing a lot of people. I'm sure there's going to be a mess after the holidays.

I can confirm the price drop, I was at RS yesterday and one of the employees saw my iPaq on my belt and asked me if I liked it. He basically told me that he wants to buy one this wednesday because they are dropping the price to $350 and that there was a $150 rebate bringing to total price to around $200.

I just called my local radio shack and they did confirm they will be $349 on Dec 5th, plus the $150 rebate. They had one in stock and are actually holding it for me until Wen. Great Deal and thanks for the heads up!!

for those wanting an actual experience on staples PM + coupon:

I PM'd the 3635 to compu-america.com when it was $378 there. CSR asks if i would like to use a coupon, i say "yes, i have a $30 off $200 i'd like to use," she says "we can't add coupons to price matches anymore"

makes me wonder why the hell she even asked me if i wanted to use a coupon...

Are you sure buy.com has the 3635? I could only find the 3650, which the rebate isn't good for

I believe you are referring to the 3650 which doesn't have a $150 rebate.
