Dude I don't what to really say since I added it to my car to check it out and it says 291.99. That is still an insanely good price on top of the $150 mail in so u can have it for pretty cheap. Shipping is near close to $7.99 for me so lemme calculate this...

EDIT: One problem is that they are ORDER ON DEMAND so who knows when you will get it, plus I see that the FedEx or UPS 2 day are both $9.99 so yea make that about $158 + not knowing when it will eb shipped .

Thanks for the Insight info: I bought my ipaq at Radio Shack for $350 and I used the Amex Blue card: you can get a dated $291 quote at Insight and I will PM the price at Insight to get another $58 or so back! Net outlay after PM and MIR will be about $141 plus tax.

$291 is still hot for me! I bought from NetMarket at $349. Now to call Amex and use the BVG to get back almost $60. I really enjoy my Ipaq, much more fun to use than my old Palm.

Talking to Insight now, I got them to change the price to $250.99 but they wont have them available until after the rebate date, so I cancelled

I wonder whether Compaq will extend the rebate to flush out the last of the 3635's? Or whether there will just be serious price reductions to get rid of the last of them? They haven't really done a lot in the way of price drops or specials on the new 3800 series at all--or even the 37xx models.

More on-topic, has anyone actually spoken to Amex about using the BVG on this?

I just called my local RatShack. I did call when this deal was posted, but everyone was sold out.
Today she says she can order it for me, but she wanted me to pay $549.00

I feel all your pain, because I currently have a Palm V [good 'ol regular 5] and I also placed an order at Insight. When I called, I was told that I had billing problems (guess they very picky about every detail), but I can verify the fact that the Ipaqs won't ship there till about January 31. In other words I canceled my order. The best thing to do now is to see if Jfur can get that webpage scanned with the $251.99 price tag so that we can PM it to anywhere up to the normal cost of $500. Good luck to all and Jfur, we are counting on you...btw you got PM .

I am in the process of PM with AMEX BVG. My problem is that the ad at www.insight.com is not dated, although at the bottom it says "Copyright © 1986-2002 Insight Enterprises, Inc". Do you guys think that is enough as the validity of the ad?

<< This is a Hawaii deal only. I was back for a while in Honolulu and stopped in Sears at Ala Moana for an unrelated item and saw they have one 3635 left. Might be a display item but I saw the actual iPaq and the box it came in deep in the display case. If I had the time I might have tried to get it but the wife was waiting for me and I would have been in deep &*(%! if I came back with another iPaq (already got the 3135 for $150).

If any local boyz happen to read this thread good luck on getting a good deal at sears. The rebate is still valid and you may be able to get it for <$150.

I just called AMEX and they said that emails with quotes are not accepted. It has to be a printout of the ad. In the case of insight it would be the date that the browser inserts when printing.

ok, I am not going to be anywhere near a scanner for at least a week -- is there any one here from Hawaii (preferably) that I can snail mail this $250.99 receipt with browser date at the bottom and then you promise to scan it ASAP and put it online? Hawaii mail will take a day, but at least 3 to the mainland.
