Stability - ASUS P4b266 or Intel 845BG

I'm building a new system for a business where stability is a must. It will be running a P4 1.6A, 256 MB Crucial DDR and Win 98. I'm tossed between these two boards and would appreciate some advice. Thanks

Both boards are very stable. You should be happy if you purchased either board.

i believe that the intel board has no overclocking options...no surprise there though

Intel is the stability leader, hands down. No overclocking, but if you want stability, go with the Intel board. It also has a 3 year warranty, and is bvacked by a company that actually responds to emails/warranty claims/customer concerns.

Asus' support/warranty service is non-existant.

Asus support has worked for me before, and they do answer warranty stuff, many people have said the actually answer those emails.

I've decided to go with the Intel board. Post sales support is mandatory for this install. If this was for myself, I would surely go with the ASUS. Thanks for all of the input, it's greatly appreciated.

Curious? Did you cost out building this with Dell's preconfigured systems. My buddy's brother just got one for 742 shipped.

Also, I'm not 100% sure, but you need to download some intel drivers for the 845D motherboard on win98 SE. I thought i saw something like on Soyo's webiste for their 845D motherboard.

Here is the Dell that my friend's brother bought, same specs except not Northwood. I'm sure there are going to be some Dell deals coming soon, one year warranty, and Dell is their main tech support,

Just be careful not to get stuck with an SDRAM system, they like to sneak those in when you aren't looking.

Interesting , their market share has dopeed considerably, and the main reason given was lack of support/warranty issues. Glad it worked out for you though!
