So if I understand all of this correctly Trump is stable as long as he remains below the 4th grade threshold.

The analysis rates GWB ahead of his daddy, presumably because the text they fed into the software had spell-corrected "nukular" to nuclear.

Robert Reich: Seriously, how dumb is Trump?
How dumb is Reich? Pretty effin' dumb!

An article dated January 25, 2017

https://www.newsmax.com/finance/str...rump-stock-market-rally/2017/01/25/id/770417/

"Former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert Reich warns savvy and observant investors not to overindulge in the celebration over the Dow Jones Industrial Average cracking the 20,000 milestone.

In essence, he’s warning that it’s last call for this bull market. And President Donald Trump is officially the market’s party-pooper, he claimed.

For now, the bull market may continue to charge forward, but give it a few months, Reich warned. By then, all of Trump’s recent policy mandates will have had a chilling effect on stocks."

Illegal whataboutism!

The subject is Trump not Robert Reich, do you have a specific disagreement with the analysis performed concerning the grade level of Trump's discourse?

To be honest I'm amazed that this was ever considered to be a valid story for a mainstream news publication. The country is being flushed down the toilet and this is considered to be an issue worth covering? How well does Trump speak? Again I ask, anything here that we haven't known for 40 years or so?

Does nobody el;se find it alarming that none of the presidents in the graph can speak past junior level in HS? How is it possible for an adult to speak worse than what a HS senior would speak at........I work with seniors, theyre not exactly the most articulate bunch.

Who knows about the 4th grade stuff, but watching him trying to lead the big immigration negotiation today clearly proves he has no idea WTF he is talking about.

There is a reason he is terrified to give a press conference.

This was discussed during the election. Not new news. Trump speaks at a 4th grade level so that a greater audience "understands" him. There is a very strong correlation between grade speaking level and votes. The higher the grade level one speaks, the fewer votes they get.

What does that say about us?

Kind of like how lower educated poor people have more kids than ones that can actually afford them. Unfortunate but true.

How is that evidence that Robert Reich is dumb? Advising people to take caution is a sign of being dumb? Also be aware, pretty much every economist in the US is also telling people to be cautious as we are in a bit of a bubble right now that they expect to burst anytime soon and trigger a recession. We are due for a recession; this is a known concept and fear that economists, the US labor dept, and the US treasury is aware of.

By the way if you take even 10 seconds to learn anything about Robert Reich you'll see that he's clearly one of the smartest, most respected, and accomplished individuals on the planet at this time.

No he doesn't like negative attention. He flies into a rage whenever he is attacked. The problem is that it doesn't affect his supporters. They are immune to attacks on him because they are incapable of distinguishing reality from fiction, so all he has to do is say the attackers are lying and his supporters just nod and accept it, and then attack the attackers. It's just reflexive at this point.

Actually I think you're hitting it, but not understanding why things operate like that. Because to them, these are just attacks by people that dislike him for non-valid reasons. And they view every criticism of him in that light. They completely tune out what is actually being said and just see it as just an attack. Its why him being such an idiot in his speaking ability actually benefits him. Because he comes off more as some like little kid, so it triggers their sympathy, by viewing everyone going after him as bullies.

Absolutely it is because its part of actual data with regards to all the talk about his cognitive state both being woeful to begin with but also potentially deteriorating. Also, I don't know if you remember but there were similar concerns about Reagan (think his was that the was old and so was taking too many naps, but I seem to recall there was worries about him because he had at times shown some issues with cognitive decline), and W (who now looks like a fucking genius compared to Turmp).

Er, are you from the future, or a legit fortune teller/psychic? Because if you knew about the specifics 40 years ago then damn.

I think you're giving those of his "supporters" that support him for any reason(s) other than their own (immediate) personal political or financial gain far too much credit for any kind of rational, reasoned analysis or response...

Let's not forget...

Yes, he stuttered as almost everyone did. You found a relatively rare example where an excellent point was still made. On the other hand, President "Very Stable Genius!" best days aren't as good as Obama on a sub par one. An intelligent person could have a good conversation with Obama. Trump couldn't out-compete a fifth grader. I mean for the first jaw-dropping 30 seconds it might be entertaining in a trainwreck sort of way, but one might chew off a limb to escape after that.

Here's a good part from his defense of his... whatever it was, "In theory, everyone tells me I'm not under investigation".

I dare you to logically deconstruct that sentence. I dare Trump to make less sense. This is a GOOD speech for Trump, and my grade school teachers would be all over me if I said that.

Know what was interesting?

They know they were being recorded but they could communicate like two regular guys. It has no significance other than seeing how Obama interacted with someone not in politics.

I've never once seen an example of an interaction with Trump that shows an ability to intelligently speak with others.

I don't think it is alarming, and I also don't think any of those other presidents couldn't have spoken at a higher grade level than they did.

The most important part of oral communications is that your target audience understand them. If you turn off a quarter of the audience by speaking over their heads, they will know it and most likely not vote for you. This is very well known in the field of persuasive speaking. Nearly all the very best trial lawyers speak in a very folksy way on trial.

Cliff's: meaningless ground upon which to criticize His Donaldship.

He did a good job as a stand up at the reporters awards
