I watched about 20 minutes of it, half of which seemed to be slo-mo combat scenes. Pretty boring, cliched, and played out.

Ugh - that seems to be the common theme in war movies these days. And why does there always have to be some love story? Often its too forced to bring anything and just makes the movie feel odd

When asked about the harsh Russian winter and the lack of the German 8th army to deal with it Hitler professed that he wears shorts, even in the winter months so his soldiers should be OK. Yea, right, one of the harshest winters ever on record and many of his men simply froze to death or starved to death after the Russians cut off the supply lines. They killed and ate all the horses before eventually dying or surrendering which wasn't much of a better option, over 100K troops eventually surrendered, after the war less than 5K came back.

The original (as far as i know) depicts a lot of that. much better version than the current piece of crap.
