In no way shape or form does a leak stop you from working in your software. Not at all.
It MIGHT get them bombarded with stupid emails asking why the game does not work but thats an annoyance, not a hinderance. Just close down your inbox for a couple weeks.

Stalker was amazing. I beat every single Stalker game and made sure to do so meticulously and thoroughly. I cannot bring myself to play any of the Stalker Gamma mods as those came way, way too late for me.

Definitely looking forward to Stalker 2, but also Pioneer which should be absolutely insane as well as the next Metro game which was just announced.

For anyone who wants a dose of Soviet/Russian/Post-Apocalyptic to hold you over, I strongly recommend Atomic Heart. There's been plenty of criticism, but those people are fools. Ignore them. The game is amazing minus a few quirks only a Russian native speaker would take issue with due to some incorrect cultural... stuff...

i recently tried playing the new stalker modpack, i think it's called Gamma, but i might be confusing it with Misery - it's a mixture of the 3 original games, got all the maps united together and a fusion of the stories of the original series.

... andd they also added some obscenely difficult reality changes where weapons degrade (unrealistically fast), and you need the parts to fix them, the wrenches, the workbenches, the lubricating oil, then you don't have the skills to repair, then you need food, water, medicine, sleep, and then there's the carry weight which makes having all of the above impossible. I tried, but just couldn't cope with being surrounded by monsters with no weapons, no ammo, no money, and no chance to acquire any of that.

Anomaly is usually the beginner introduction to Gamma considering how much the game changes with Gamma but if you can get past the initial hurdles, it can be fun if you enjoy excruciatingly difficult survival games.

It took me a few tries to get into Gamma because I'd also end up venturing into the wrong place at the wrong time or building my camp in a spot that was too far away to be of any use.

i think we're both on the same page. I do enjoy difficult games, but i think the Gamma / Misery modpack is badly balanced towards gear acquisition. If there is .. another .. thing i love about the Stalker series, it's that when you crank up the difficulty, the game becomes more difficult for *everyone*, both you and the enemy. Obviously this has its own problems, because once you have a high end weapon, like a modded G3 with a high resolution scope, you can drop anything with a headshot from a mile away.

In the original Stalker(s), what's stopping you is that you don't know the mobs, you don't know the anomalies, you don't know the maps. In Gamma what's stopping you is that you haven't got the gear. Now, i'm not asking to get all kitted out from the getgo, but i do expect some reasonable progression. The initial tediousness of having to collect thousands of garbage pistols that sell for barely the ammo they carry is, i feel, artificial. If you wanna do a realistic game, have the balls to do it realistic in full. I took my chances, killed a guy who had armor and a gun good enough to put me down in 2 bullets, and i lived - i deserve to scavenge a realistic payout. Instead they do this typical bullshit where the enemy empties 3 mags into you, then you kill them and they have [2] TWO bullets.

No tnx.

Release date pushed back again. I don't mind this in the slightest and I honestly expected it to get pushed one more time, but I am secretly enjoying the shit fit that the online drama queens are throwing over this.

What are you talking about? They're delaying the game for additional testing and bug fixing - not remaking the entire game.

I've been hearing massively positive things about the graphics and atmosphere, but I'm still steering completely clear of any and all spoilers (trailers included) so I can view it from a fresh perspective. I screwed up by spoiling myself on SoC back in the day when my buddy and I were chomping at the bit waiting for it to come out and we were consuming every bit of media we could find on the game which turned out to be a really bad idea. The initial impression wasn't as either of us had hoped and we both felt a little let down until we played through a decent portion of the game.

gdd... i just realized i dont own a GPU that can run this game.
And the new intel gpus are delayed until next year ..
i can't really spend more than, idk a 4060. not that i dont have the money, but it's not a great investment for someone like me who plays mostly Angband - an ASCII game.
i may need to wait. i was seriously considering a nicely discounted A770 but waited too long and it sold out, but now that the new series is due for release, i am really tempted to jump ship to intel to see what their gpus are like.

That means they'll probably have to release another Trailer. You know, just to be sure that they have another Trailer, to announce the Trailer which themselves announced the Trailers of the Trailers. We'll probably also need reviews because we haven't seen enough of the game from the Trailers yet.
