Stalker dev GSC goes under?

I have to say, i never really got into these games. I preordered Clear Sky and never played more than 20mins of it. I have no idea if the Stalker games were any good. Another PC dev bites the dust.

They'll be a miss. The FPS RPG side of the kind of RPG FPS that is Elder Scrolls.

They were a bit buggy... but they were gritty and made you feel like you were "there". We need more games like that....

These are among the best games I have ever played, period. They are funny, in the fact that you either get into them, or you don't. And each side can't see what the other side is missing, lol. They are the most immersive games that I have ever played. The sense of dread and desolation is the allure. I guess some people can't stay with it long enough to sense it. Shame.

Stalker series was good, but could sometimes be a little buggy. If anything, the series showed a lot of potential, potential that slipped through the cracks.

A couple of years ago I bought S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl, and bought S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat a few weeks ago. I have enjoyed both games, but Shadow of Chernobyl could have been a lot better.

Even after 3 attempts, they couldn't get the game right IMO.....good concept but poor execution, also they went backwards on GFX, so Clear Sky had better GFX than Cop.

Noooooooooooo!!!!!!!! SoC and CoP are amazing games (especially post- Complete Mod). The very best FPS's with RPG elements to date, with incredible art direction and truly unique atmosphere.

.....and I was so stoked for STALKER 2 being released next year.

Oh well.....I'm sure somebody will make a $60 MP-centric FPS with a single-player campaign tagged on that resembles f@%#ng mindless garbage. :awe: We need more!

That's too bad. They weren't my favorite games, but they definitely had a cool atmosphere and a great combination of RPG and FPS elements.

SoC had some pretty freaky moments too, which were awesome. I still need to finish that game.

True, but their games were great to play once you got past that, just like most titles from the now defunct Troika.

Nooooo! The STALKER series was one of my all-time favorite. A little buggy yes but they had great graphics and an immersive atmosphere. Hopefully they still have some life left in them.
