STALKER: Psuedodog tail?!

Is it just me, or do these dogs never spawn tails?

They spawn em. You just can't see em in the inventory. Either it's just plain bugged, or the color is so close to the background you can't tell it's there.

Just click get all whenever you kill a pseudo, you'll find one.

I only found 3 or so from killing over 30 dogs in my run through. Never found a use for them. Tney're there, it's just not found on every dead dog.

yeah, i think most of the time they are just too hard to see.

I just started playing this game, and where the fvck are the vendors who sell ammo? I can only use pistol now and it blows. I still haven't gotten to the bar, I am at the part where I am supposed to infiltrate into the government building and steal documents (very early in the game).

I am looking for a tail now too.

All the vendors save for trader are past the bar area.

It took forever to find one...then I somehow picked one up. More than likely I found it while one of those packs of dogs was chewing on my heals.

It has to be a psuedodog, they're the really nasty dog with the half-human head. The game decides whether to put one in the dead dogs inventory based on a percentage chance. Then, on top of that, it's color makes it pretty hard to see. The best way to get one is to take Nimble's quest to get the suit of armor. Right before you retrieve it a psuedo dog attacks you. If you save right before you enter the area, you can repeat until the dead dog gives up a tail.

When I went to do Nimble's quest for armor, that ugly looking dog thing from the tunnel came out and had a tail once I killed it. Just head towards the bandit camp (very first thing to do pretty much) but go around and behind it, then keep going a little more. There's some packs of dogs then that ugly mofo from the tunnel.


I was able to get better weapons pretty quickly. I stuck around the first Cordon area for too long probably, but I was having fun doing whatever. After you originally kill the bandits (1st mission), go back and get your reward, then go around and do whatever. I went to the NW (I think) where there is a bunch of anomalies and the tunnel to enter to get across the tracks except didn't do through the tunnel, collected artifacts and anything around, then went back to the bandit camp. There was several new bandits there with AK74 and whatnot. The bandits there generally come back fairly often. So before I went to the military checkpoint to pay to get across, I already had the better pistol, AK74, and Viper 5 I think.

Just loot all the bodies and crates you find. I've always ended up with too much weapons, ammo, aid kits, etc. Of course on a harder difficulty you might not.

I just killed them all,you can also sneak pass,however killing them you can loot their bodies for items.

As to the Psuedogtail,found mine near the bar (garbage area) you better off just killing them first until you get a tail then go back and get the mission for it.

Don't think any of the vendors sell ammo in the unmodded game (don't remember, I've been playing with a mod for a long time now).

Regardless, ammo is not hard to find (Russian ammo, and NATO ammo), and you'll always have a good supply.

Regardless, ammo is not hard to find (Russian ammo, and NATO ammo), and you'll always have a good supply.

I am playing on the hardest level and I just got to the bar, but prior to that, it was hell. I always ran out of ammo for the SMGs and rifles, even though I would burst fire and conserve as much as I can. By the time I got to the laboratory, it was my pistol versus all the soldiers (I was sneaking around but a body was found).

I had to pick my fights and run away most of the time.

I'm playing normal, not hard, and about every soldier you kill (2-7 rounds) will net you ~30 rounds of 7.62x39.

I always use everything on semiautomatic, unless fighting things that run up to you, then pull out the shotgun or goto auto.
