Staples 11/29 (Black Friday) Sales

How can a store "prevent" you from returning an item or items in accordance with their return policy????

Here's my proposal, what if we organize a "Red Friday" protest - the day [your] local store lost money when a mass-protest resulted in THOUSANDS of items being return in an organized protest? Maybe it's time to make that "UGLY SCENE", and in the process, tell every other shopper what that retailer has or is doing....

Last year, Staples printed out the MIRs at the register. They even printed me extra receipts for the rebates without me even asking. It seems the workers were all trained in Black Friday etiquette.

Before anyone goes ga-ga over the monitor check the specs on the Staples website. 1024x768 max resolution @ 85 Hz.

As for MIRs and buying early:

Stores *should* follow their policy and give you a price adjustment, however they do not have to let you return and then rebuy the item. That's not in their policies.

They can give you the price adjustment and not issue you a new receipt. No new receipt means no rebate. If you raise a stink they can let you return the item, give you your refund, and just leave the item behind the service desk. Some people reported that happening last year at Best Buy.

If you want to buy early fine, but don't think a return & rebuy is an entitlement, because it's not.

Are you sure? I did not think that Staples has been printing rebate forms at the register for that long. Extra receipts has always been done. Now it's done automatically.

I've never seen Staples do a price adjustment as anything other than a return and rebuy at the lower price. That said, they can definitely refuse to let you rebuy it, I'd be willing to bet there is wording saying something to the effect of previous purchases not qualifying.

Just a cautionary word ....... be prepared to wait a long time for PNY rebates........ So if you can afford to sit on 80.00 go for it. I for one will pass....

Dude cant you read? $80 is = INSTANT SAVINGS i.e. its deducted at the register the rebate is only for 20 dollars

Anyone receive coupons and giftcard from Staples?
I received one from mail yesterday.

Inside the mail, it contains 1 coupon and 1 giftcard. The coupon is $20 dollars off $100, and it stated that it is only for online and phone purchase. The giftcard is $10 dollars of $40, and it stated that it is only for in-store only.



Maybe I can get better deals using that 10 dollars card on Black Friday. Hehe

the 499667 is a 5800, presumably Visioneer
the second sku is a e48u, by Artec I think.

The Artec scanner is correct but I was told by some of the employees the other scanner will be a Memorex scanner. I noticed today that they got a whole bunch in. They could be mistaken though.

I was at Staples yesterday. The new 40x Cendyne burners were in a new style white box. They did not have the 12 digit Liteon serial number. The Cendyne 40x Liteon burners they had a couple of weeks ago are in a red box.

Last year was my first insane before daylight shopping experience, I arrived 30 minutes before the store "Staples" opened and I was like #100 in line. I got the product but you better know what you want and waste no time picking it up. It's a rush being in that mess, try it you'll never go back... LOL
