It's misleading. The only things you're getting for free are the accessory kit and the pinball. You still have to pay $129.99 for the Palm.

Install it and see what windows detects it as.

I arrived at staples 35 minutes early with 11 people in line before me. I got the hard drive, 512 pc133, 128 compact flash, jewel cases, and a surge protector.

I went into my local Staples in Taunton, MA around 8:00 am, and everything is still all there. I saw people shopping, not much people know what's good deals and what's not.

I scored the Cendyne 48x12x48, 128MB SmartMedia, 100/pack Optimum CD-R and the 512 PC133 SDRAM.

Yes, it's a 48x burner for $9.99 after rebate. If you notice on the rebate, it clearly stated that it works with the 40x and the 48x burner. I guess my local Staples doesn't have any of the 40x burner in-stock, so they were selling the 48x burner, which is a great deal!

I returned my 512 PC133 SDRAM after tested on my PII@350mhz, because it doesn't work. I guess my old motherboard just doesn't support 512 RAM. oh-well. My return experience was great though, I just told the Staples' lady that I can't get it working. The lady didn't ask further question and return it for me.

so..my totals of spending at Staples *after rebates are...
$9.99 + $27.94 = $37.93

Woke up this morning, planned to goto Fry's. Checked staples instore specials online cuz i was gonna stop by there. Saw that they had 15inch LCD on the front page, checked that # with the $50 coupon i received few weeks back for a NEC LCD...and they MATCHED.

Went Fry's in Orange County, but the line was all the way to the street..so decided to goto to staples. Picked up:
NEC 15inch LCD for $250-$50 rewards coupon - $50 rebate = $150
512 SDR for $130-80IR-20MR= $30
Cendyne 48x(subsitution) for $60-50MR= $10

not bad.

Felt sorry for the guy behind me though, he bought the LCD for $200, he got the 40x instead of the 48x, and got the DVD burner for $200...which could of be had for $170 at OM.

No lie, I got there at 08:10 and all the $30gb hdds, the $9 cd-rw drives, the free 100packs of cd-r's, the free calculator, the free norton 2k3, the 64mb smartmedia for $20, the 512MB ram for $30 (got the 256 for $9 though ), and the $5 surge protectors were wiped out, and I live a small town. All I got was the 64MB flash and the 256 MB ram on sale, I did find on normal prices 350 VA APC battery backups for $40 and picked up a couple. I think I either need to get up earlier next year or sleep in myself.

This is what I scored online at Staples (armchair BF for me):

PNY 512MB RAM
Maxtor 30GB HD
2 x 100-pk CDRs
25-pk Jewel Cases
128MB Smartmedia
Visioneer Scanner

Total $291.93
-$50 in coupons, -$187 in MIR, plus a YMMV Maxtor $20 double dip = $34.93

Wanted to get the Norton + McAfee, and then do a cross MIR, but too bad OOS

EDIT: Just PMed w/ OMax on the scanner, -$34.99 refunded from Staples

argh. no luck on the cdrw drive @ 2 Staples. I chose to go to CC to grab 2 Apex tv's and couldn't make it to Staples in time. They wouldn't substitute the 48x either.

I think this qualifies as a fairly HOT deal:

The Staples circular shows a picture of the Maxtor USB 2.0 PCI Adapter card (SKU479858) as "Free after rebate when purchased with this hard drive". It is much much better than that, though, because you dont have to purchase the hard drive!!! The rebate on the staples website does say anything about purchasing a hard drive, nor does the rebate that prints out at the register (I bought one).

So, FREE AFTER REBATE USB 2.0 card!!!!

I'm going to make you guys jealous...

First off.. I was at Staples this morning at 4:30am... crazy eh? But I got an awesome deal!

The NEC 15inch LCD monitor was $199 after $50 rebate... Here's what I got...

$249 - $50 coupon for NEC LCD monitors (from FW) - $30 coupon (B&M coupon from FW) - $50 MIR... anyway.. my total was $184... including tax and everything. Plus... I get a $50 rebate.. so total comes to $134 for an NEC LCD monitor.. man..

My friends got a better deal though.. for them... the cashier just kept stacking the coupons... they paid $167.xx and minus the rebate would be $117.xx.

Oh well.. hope you all faired well!

Anyone see the rebate for $10 on the Sony 30 pack of audio CDR's? 453963 or for that matter the $50 rebate on the CD creator software, 452656?

Its an Aopen drive. Bought one for my mom last week at OfficeMax and it works great. It's not a junk drive. They let me look thru the stock for a LiteOn but they had none. The one I grabbed was actually a 48x12x50.

Edit: for serious spelling deficiencies

Was that "Anyone see the rebate" like "look at this deal" or "where is the rebate form"?

The latter, they were filler items for me. Thanks. I just added the item to my cart after searching for it, without clicking through to the product page where the rebate was. It wasn't in the rebate center when I last looked. Thanks for your help. I'm willing to be the dumb question of the day award winner as long as I get my $50.

I was in line at 5:30am, 6 from the front.

I got:

$60 Burner
$70 HP940
$30 Cobra FRS 2mile range 2-pack /w charger
$20 100CD-R
$38 128MB Smartmedia
------------------------------
$217.xx
-25off150 (b&m printable coupon, yay they took it)
$192.xx
+11.xx tax
--------------------
$204.xx out the door.
-$120 MIR (already sent them out!)
----------------------
$84

Already sold the burner and 25 CD-Rs for $55, so, I'm down to $29 for a damn nice printer, 2radios, 128compact, and 75cdrs

Black Friday falling on a 3rd pay can be a dangerous thing . Didn't have the extra coupons to make the 15" NEC LCD as hot of a bargain as others did, but even for $200 it can't be touched. Circuit City is still selling it for $330... After showing the folks the LCD, I have more than enough reason to believe that my secondary monitor (19" VX900) will be going away shortly in favor of another LCD . My friend ended up with the DVD-RW for $199 @ Staples since OMax in my area didn't have any in stock before the store opened

The only thing I wanted from Staples was the LCD. *I* was under the impression that the LCD in-question was the Envision as well. Made sense considering that Staples is usually the king of Envision sales. Well, we got there, and I made my way back to the center of the store, where all the good sh*t seemed to be (this is the store in Tyson's Corner, VA). I talked to one CSR, and he said they thought they only had TWO in-stock. Sure enough, they had TWO in stock of the Envision. So I thought I was lucky and I'd get one of the only two. THEN another CSR points out that the LCD with the rebate is the NEC 1545V. So after about two different confirmations, I got handed one of about 20 or so that they had. (Lesson: Tyson's Corner Staples is STOCKED)

I had come armed with a few copies of the Black Friday-only coupons I had seen on FW. Still under the impression that this was 299.99 -100MIR = 199.99, I had the 50 off 300 codes specifically. BOY, what a surprise *I* got when I figured out it was 249.99 stock! Anyway, I made two peoples' Christmas' even merrier, since I gave both coupons out to people I saw had a LOT of stuff or very little but EXPENSIVE things. Why keep them? They wouldn't do ME any good. Plus I'm pretty sure I've got a few hundred years in Purgatory, so might as well build up some credit towards the afterlife by being generous and helping out my fellow man.

Anyway, I did come prepared, though. I had a 5 dollar Staples Bus. Rewards check and a 15 off 75 "Savings Card" in addition to the 50 off the NEC LCD Business Rewards coupon. The CSR passed all of them through, and some of the extra 20 dollars' savings was negated by my mother needing dry erase board supplies. So all told, for the display at least:

249.99
- 50 Coupon
- 50 MIR
- 20 Coupon/Check
- tax exemption (hey, it's legit since it's going into a classroom! )
-----
~110 bucks for a 15" LCD display AR.

I was kinda psyched about the LCD being NEC because I thought the display might sport DVI, but it doesn't. But who cares - it's a perfectly decent display for less than most 17" CRTs! What's sad is that by this time next year, 15" LCDs will sport DVI connections as a matter of course, and probably be 150 WITHOUT rebates. Of course, in retrospect, I should have run back to the middle of the store and picked up the Memorex scanner to go over 300. THEN the LCD would have been ~60 bucks AR. Something tells me Staples Corporate would have kicked that, though.

I bought the 40gig at OD. Same thing. I was the only one buying hhd. Everybody else was interested in cameras, printers, computers... If I were to go next year I'll go after noon. How knows. They may still have the drive there Saturday.
