The real trick is actually finding their specials in their stores...

I tried to get a battery backup they had for $10 after rebate last week. I called 4 local places and none of them had it in stock... this was MONDAY evening (Sun-Sat sale). Truck was due in Thursday they said... too bad it did not come with what I wanted on it. They ordered it online for me, but it was the wrong one and would not have been eligible for the large rebate.

I called a Staples 30 minutes away. Sure, we have it they said. I drove there to find out they did not have it. Staples really made me mad last week. I can't stand incompetance. Almost as much as I can't stand stores avertising weekly specials and not having enough items to last past monday.

You can ask a store to do a save a sale...provided its in the same general area. You pay for it at your local store.....and the store that has it in stock will ship it to you. Its processed via a store-store transfer. Most people don't know about it...and most stores don't offer it because its a pain in the ass process. But as a customer you can request it if not in stock + not online.

Some stores have literally piles of stuff thats onsale that nobody ever buys. I mentioned in another thread my store had dozens of the cendyne (lite-on) burners that no one bought.

I think the $40 off $200 printable coupon that everyone is frantically searching for expired on 5/31/2002, at least mine did.

There's only one Staples printable coupon which remains as far as I know, the $20 off $100 which expires 6/22/2002.
