I just ordered 1 online, used $20 off $100 coupon by mail, called to PM to Fry's for $99.99 + 10%.

Nice deal. Ordered it Tuesday, arrived today. It is the 3 year warranty model. On sale through the 19th.

A Staples live chat CSR told me the packing slip is the "receipt". Remember to include your UPC too.

Thanks. I included the upc and both slips that were in the box (the "this is not an invoice form", and the packing slip).

Hmm, I only got 1 slip, the "Not an invoice" paper. I was told to use that, I think.

The UPC is not listed as a required item in either of the rebate forms.

The UPC is a pasted on label on the one I got and is not printed on the
box. In that case, it can be recreated pretty easy so that's why they
probably didn't include it in the requirements.

Box states 1 year warranty.

This drive is very fast. A dramatic difference from the ATA-66 Samsung
I was running. Very quiet and smooth. If got fairly hot when I transferred
13 Gigs of data over but under normal operation it is only luke warm to the
touch. No problem at all. First Maxtor I've owned since the old RLL drives.

That's true, but I'd rather not risk it. Easier to just send the UPC out now.

From the Mail-in-rebate form:

"To Receive Rebate:
1. Print and Fill Out Form
2. Include UPC and Sales Receipts in an envelope
3. Mail to: ( Dept. 03-56066 ), P.O. Box 028513, Miami FL 33102-8513"

If you do the online rebate procedure, on the page that prints out that you have to send in it tells you only to send in the store receipt, with no mention of the UPC symbol. But continuing on, on step7 it says:

"2) Tape your original receipt or packaging invoice and the UPC symbol from the back of the product packaging."

So that online thing is kinda confusing, but I'm pretty sure they want the UPC symbol. Also it's interesting they want the original of the receipt, and not a copy.

Yeah I thought that too...didn't see them request a UPC. But I put it in there anyway...because what would I want with the UPC anyway? I already went in on the Office Depot deal for this drive, so I can't really "scam" anyone with my UPC. Better safe than sorry I thought...turned out to be a good thought.

i bought 2 of these drives from consecutive OD deals... 1 had 30$ rebate, other had 40$ rebate... great drives, so hop on 'em. I have already gotten an email about the first rebate being received and processed.

And guess who's going to be complaining three months from now about how staples doesn't honor their rebates.

I just got my order in just three days, way to go Staples! And I got the drive with the 3 year warranty. This never happens. Maybe my luck is changing.
