Staples Ad 12/05

I picked up the Teon DVD+R on BF and have been satisfied so far as they both work fine at the rated speed in my Lite-on drives. For those interested, the DVD+Rs I picked up were CMC media.

i was at staples BM on bf and i had NO problems. the website was being flakey... but of course that wasn't their fault. got almost everything i wanted... the one thing i didn't get was the i/o magic dvdrw which i managed to pick up over at circuit city... so i was happy.

and my rebates are also on easyrebates pending... which i did have to wait until tuesday to enter them since they had problems with the system. which... i don't think bf was the best time to implement a brand new system... but whatever. the fact that it didn't completely implode seems pretty good to me

After the BF fisasco and the BS they have pulled on myself and thousands of others regarding their BF items and their worthless rebate sysystem, and their inventory shell games, and lying/confused CSR's.....

I "REFUSE" to ever spend another penny of my hard-earned cash in their worthless BM/online stores. Establishments such as this that conduct business in this manner, should NOT receive our business. They should be allowed to watch their customer base quickly trickle away, while they wither on the vine, dying a well-deserved death.

Not sure what you're talking about, but I have never had any problems with Staples. And compared to other retailers (BB, CC, CUSA), they're much better and easier to deal with.

When STAPLES eventually declares bankruptcy and closes it's doors, I will be the first to show up at MY local BM store and conduct a large "Happy Dance" in front of their doors.

Guess you'll be waiting a while then. Staples has been growing their busniess/revenue/profits quarter over quarter for at least the past couple of years that I've been following their stock. They've been one of the few companies able to grow during the past few years despite the economic slump. For a while, their stock was going nowhere/sideways, but now they're doing something right.

Wish I knew what you experienced.

Then consider yourself lucky. You are receiving a good experience and I'm happy for you.

MANY others on this board and "others" (*cough* *FW*) are telling stories which reflect my experience. Mind you, this isn't the first time they have done me wrong with an online order. They have done the SAME thing on at least 2 other orders I have placed online with them.

Believe me....NO you don't. If you are getting good service from them, enjoy. Just be careful what you wish for....

I'm pretty happy with Staples at the moment. The rebate process wasn't ready for BF, but after about a week they had the rebates up on the site. I applied with no problem. The thing I don't like about BB rebates is that many of them are for gift cards. I'd rather have the cash back, or better yet an "instant rebate"!

are CMC good quality? I also have a Lite-on burner. I currently use verbatim/mcc, i've been looking for a good deal on 8x dvd's but i always burn at 4x anyway

IMHO, CMC is middle of the road. The aren't as good as Ritek or Ridata media, but definately not the worse either.

I am satisified with media based on 2 things:

(1) it burns at the rated speed
(2) the burned media can be read in all of my DVD drives at or near the full speed of the drive (ie, no slow read/seach times).

So far, the Teon CMC +R's I got on BF seem to work fine, so I think the 20pack for $5 is a pretty good deal for cheap media.

I love staples. They had the most deals on Bfriday so I went there and got all I needed. I had an issue(people stealing my merchandise!) but it was resolved very quickly by a manager even though there were 2000 people in the store.

No problems with Staples rebates here, or BB as far as that goes. Maybe you guys just don't know how to read the fine print when you turn in your rebates.

Then again, maybe you just have bad luck.

I also scored the BF deal for the TEON 8x 40pk -R spindle. I just got my new NEC-3500 and after flashing with the proper firmware im cruising along at consistent burns of 10x-12.4x and yes they are CMC. Not had a problem so far and I ve burnt about 10 already. Will be going back for more packs as well. Thanks OP, good find!

They are 8x CMC.
