If you have a choice make sure to pick up the 200 GB Maxtor with a serial number that begins with a "B". Those are the Diamond Max 10's with 16MB buffer (even though the box says 8). I think the newer ones will all be Diamond Max 10's, it's probably only if your store has old stock that you'll get a Diamond Max Plus 9.

Also, with the NAV/GoBack bundle there may be an extra upgrade rebate available for GoBack. There's an upgrade form for GoBack 4.0 (not sure if that's the version that will be bundled with NAV 2006). So you should be able to make $20 on the deal.

I remember there was something about that last year, that made it easier to get the stuff that sold out quick, since they do have some stock piles at their distribution centers (and they end up doing that for you instore later in the morning anyway).

It should work after 6am EST; however, be prepaired for a very slow connection. Some items will sell out online and then you'll have to go to the store.

nearly everything (if not everything) was available online last year but the site was dirt slow. i'm talking 5-10 mins per page load. however, they have upgraded their site in the past few months so hopefully they upgraded their servers as well.

also, if you're going to do this, make sure you have an account prior to that morning. i didn't last year and it took forever to do it and ended up costing me a flash drive.

Easy Rebates are just that...EASY...
You also get them much faster than if you send all that stuff in.

As a word of advice, don't go into the store thinking that an employee will be able to help you order on a kiosk. If you want to try to order it yourself they probably won't give you any crap. Also keep in mind that staples.com has free delivery until the end of the year, so don't ask that dumb question (ummm, is shipping free??)...I hate that one!

Come in early, please don't push and shove...and when it is out stock please don't give us a hard time... LOL, this is my Second Black Friday at Staples..

Oh the nightmares of last year....for instance, I had a guy who wanted a $400.00 safe. He just "HAD" to have it at 6:00AM.... People like that can be dropped on their head...

Please don't stand there and roll your eyes, and QUIT being so damn impatient!
We want to be there just as much as you do, in other words we really don't want to be there.

If there are any Virgin Black Friday people out there, keep in mind most people won't want help picking out a product, they just want to get their hands on the free stuff then they will be out of your hair. One plus for me is that I get first pick of the stuff, ahh now that?s almost worth it! I can't wait to hide a hard drive at the counter and throw it into a crowd of people and just watch them bite and claw their way to victory. It is kinda like watching vultures dive at a carcass on the side of the road.... Hehe, just kidding.

One last thing, just because a product has a limit of 5 does not mean that you HAVE to take 5. If you are really buying this for someone on your xmas list then I can see why. But if you are buying 5 56K modems to have "just in case", then you can go to hell.... It is not fair for these people who wait for 2 hours in the cold who actually want gifts for people, and not just for themselves or for ebay, to find out that someone bought them all for personal gain. If you work in retail then I think you know where I am coming from.

Happy hunting, has anyone else out there actually seen this years ad? To me it does not look at all as good, nor does it have as good of deals as it did last year.

I've been looking for some good office speakers to listen to the radio so those AL's for $20 AR seems pretty good to me.

They are decent...you know, unless they are a promotional item, they should be on display at your local store. Call em up and ask if they are on display, or just stop in and ask a manager (make sure it is a manager, wait until you see the look on his face) if the speakers in the BF ad are on display. He/she will look at you and probably ask where you heard about them, simply smile and ask again. I just love it when a manager is "one upped" by a customer, just makes me laugh!

Our ad is supposed to be super secret for some reason, that?s why the manager will have an angry look of bewilderment on his face.

Does anyone know anything about the 20" LCD TV that will be on sale? I'll searched the web, and only found one customer review, and no professional reviews. Never heard of the company, but it's prolly rebadged? Thanks!

Hmm, I think Staples is my best bet this year. I might try loading up on the FAR items, 512mb PNY drive, and a 50 pack of dvd's. Throw in a 10 off 100 coupon I have, and for a total for everything AR I'm looking at around $9-10 with tax included. Last year at our local Staples we showed up around 8 am, and still loaded up on all the door buster deals. Hopefully they're stocked as well as they were last year. Just wish I had a better coupon.

Anyone know how much the rebate(s) are on the 200gb hard drive and the DVD burner?

I've got to the staples site and looked at the ad, however it doesn't actually say how much the rebates are for. I realize it's a "easy rebate" at that they are indeed, easy. But if it's something crazy like a $100+ rebate I'm not gonna bother getting up as the azz crack of dawn for it.

Guess all the good stuff is for in-store only. At least that is what the BF ad says, and it says this online also.

:QNo early bird special will be online. Why should you be able to sit @home and order anything online when others have to go to the store and wait inline.
