I am looking at the Ad. It says "SAVE $65" and under that $39.94 alongside After mail in rebate,
$104.98-$10 instant rebate and $55 mail in rebate = $39.94 I agree the math is off 4 cents but nothing to discuss in the store.
I have a $20 off $100 coupon but it says not usuable with instant savings. I believe most of the coupons are being written that way now.

Why do you doubt it? Guess you cannot read the "quantities limited" disclaimer in their advert. It's not unusual for these stores to have very limited quantities of these loss-leaders, which is why they're known as loss-leaders. They're there to get you into the store whether they have any left in stock or not. Their hope is to get you to buy SOMETHING in their store after you've found out the stock of the "early-bird specials" have been exhausted.

Oh, and it's NOT illegal............no bait and switch. There are those products available for sale in the stores, just not a lot. Bait-and-switch is advertising a product for sale at at ridiculously low price and having NONE for real sale and get "helped" into buying a "comparable" item for retail......no one can buy it for the advertised price which is NOT the case here.

Hi all,

Stopped by my local Staples Wednesday evening and they were getting ready for Friday morning.

There was a pallet stacked high with the Envision 17" LCD's. I would guess at least 40, maybe a bit more.

Also, there was a folding table with a stack of 40+ of the FAR CD-RW's, along with four or more cardboard cartons filled with more of the drives under the table.

Didn't spend much time looking closely at other stuff, but was impressed with the quantities they had out and ready to go.

Interestingly, while walking about, I noticed they were pulling all of their stock on a few types of RAM. I can't be 100% sure 'cause they were working quickly, but it appeared they were doing so based upon the Black Friday ads of competitors!

I just got off the phone with a CRS from Staples and they base their sales on the time zone that we're calling from:
I.E. If you're calling from the West Coast and call @ 6:00 A.M. they base available inventory from a Western Distribution Center. So you don't have to get up @ 3:00 A.M. to try to compete against someone on the East Coast for fear of them being OSS by 6:00 A.M. our time. Based on this formula, I don't think they'll let you order before 6:00 A.M. anyway.

Staples is usually pretty good about quantities. I'm going to one that has a smaller population base so it shouldn't be as bad. I've gone there the last two years and I will be one of the first 10 in line, maybe even first depending on when I drag my but outta bed.

The HP 433/435 Digital Camera has a plastic lens. Most are made of glass. I suppose this shouldn't be too big of a deal but for some reason the idea of a plastic lens is a big turn-off for me.
