well I exchanged a defective item and told the csr to make sure she did not screw up the rebate well last night I get an email saying the rebate is invalid for the $60..well the item is going back and they will give me the rebate there or I am returning it..I am not going to fight over this...the easy rebates are pain...

if you get a defective item and rechange for the same thing it kicks it out a s a return...they say it may still revalidate..no way I am taking a chance

It now looks like December 13th is the date that Staples is going to reprocess all of our Black Friday rebates (at least thats what the email sai)

However, even though i finally got my submission in online, when i track it, it says they are waiting on the mail in portion, WTF?

Mine also says the same thing about the mail in portion. We weren't supposed to mail in anything right? Just enter the info online?

Wow they really don't have a clue as far as the "easy"rebates... All of my previously ok rebates just showed up as invalid... :|

Called the rebate center and got a nice, if somewhat hard to understand, CSR who apologized several times and said that she would go ahead and validate the rebates so I could get the funds on time...

Mine is showing "Pending Return Interval Complete". Which Im guessing is they are waiting the 30 days in which I could return the drive before sending out the check...

I checked the status on my easy rebates and two show as "Pending Duplicate Identification" and one shows as "Pending Return Interval Complete". Regarding the Teon rebates, the online rebate form says "Limit 1 rebate per product/sku/name/address/household" so even though my rebate submission shows both the DVD-R and DVD+R spools as being purchased I will only get one $15 rebate? I'm so confused
Has anybody thought about doing something with those UPC codes we didn't have to send in?

I called about this since it was past December 13th and my rebates were still listed as invalid due to purchase date. The CSR quickly updated my files to a valid purchase date, but denied the second rebate. When I told him what the rebate form said, he replied that they had a big discussion on how to interpret the rebate and they were told that if the customer purchased two Teon products on separate orders, they could receive two rebates ($30). If the customer purchased two Teon products on the same order, they could only receive one rebate ($15). Therefore, he denied my second rebate. The CSR thought they were doing this wrong, but could only do as he was told. I'm going to return the second pack to my local Staples and talk with the manager. If nothing else, I'll get back my money. $23+ is too much to pay for 40 DVD-r's. There are many better deals out there and I don't need them right now.

My Staples store I purchased were really well organized, and nice. LONG BEACH !! Thank you!!. They were the best. And I even went in and talked with the store manager about the "OR" easy rebates. I will wait, and if I dont get both on the SAME receipt, I will just return the item. Manager is flexible, and understnads my concertns, and will remember me. They are doing everything they can to make the reason they want people to come into the store payoff.

I mean, when you get treated nice, and the item you need is available, but it is not on sale anywhere, I will go to Staples.

This Easy Rebate thing just started. FIrst time under the gun. They will get the bugs worked out, and if no one abuses it, this will be the best way to do rebates. I am tired of stamps and envelopes.

so what exactly "Pending Return Interval Complete" status mean?
They need to make sure the item I purchased passed the qualify return date, then start proceed the rebate process?

Same here, if they don't honor it I'll return one.

I returned one to my local store and talked with the manager. He said I needed to wait the 30 days for the return eperiod to end so they process the first rebate. He said if I return one now, they will count that as the one the rebate was validated for, no the one it wa rejected for and cancell the rebate. He said he has seen this happen before. I said of they aren't going to honor the rebate I need my money back and will deal with them not honoring their advertised rebate at that time. I got the refund and will wait and see what happens with the first one.

I just checked my EZRebate (gawf) and my $35 rebate for the 160 Gig hard drive is processing, but they are denying my $80 rebate on the 17" monitor.

I can see denying multiple rebates on the SAME ITEM, but these are two totally different items made by two totally different companies.

I'll call CSR tommorow and complain. If they say no go, the Hard Drive is going back (haven't even opened it, thank goodness).

P.S. Funny how they would let the lower of the two rebates through. Things that make you go hmm!!!

***EDIT*** I called the CSR number and after 'navigating' through it, finally got a CSR who clarified it was a different item and validated the rebate. She said it should be showing on the online status w/in 24 hrs. (Crossing fingers.)

I bet they are hoping 15-40% of people don't bother following up on this, thus getting them to pay the higher retail price.

I received 3 out of 4 rebates back from Staples.
All 3 of them is mail-in rebate. I didn't bother with easy rebate.
And the 4th one, I submited through easy rebate, and it's still pending for processing right now.

I guess in conclusion, easy rebate is indeed slower than mail-in rebate.

I entered my BF purchases into EasyRebates on 12/8/04, and they still show as "Pending" after 13 days. Hasn't even moved onto "Pending Duplicate Identification" or "Pending Return Interval." I should've just mailed it in instead. Their new online system still has a lot of problems.

so far I have found the easy rebate to be worthless...it was the reason I used Staples..should have just mailed everything in

I was paying my credit card statement and noticed that the charge from Staples for my DVD burner and hard drive from the BF sale was kinda high - $170 before tax. Considering I was only receiving $65 in rebates ($30 + $35) the total came to $105 for both items. I should have paid about $80 for both items ($39.98 each). I called Staples and they determined that the coupon's on my order were wrong. They totaled $90 ($40 + $50) and should have totaled $115 ($55 + $60). The nice CSR gave me a credit of $25 on my credit card. Staples is still the best company to do business with!

All my bf rebates are still pending and the teon DVD's only still show 1 rebate but I did call them right after BF about this and they said it would show that way. No denial on any rebate and yes mail in is much faster as my friend got his rebate for his laminator 2 weeks ago and he mailed in his rebate and mine says pending still.:Q

I got my rebates back for 3 of my idems and only 1 Teon DVD rebate of course. I called the rebate center and was told to go to the store and they will file for the extra rebate for the teon DVD. I went to the store with my rebates and the receipt and the form showing what was being honored and the store manager gave me the 15.00 rebate for the other Teon DVD right from the register in cash and never hesitaded at all as he must have known about the rebate center not honoring the 2 Teon rebates. He did it as a return I beleive customer satisfaction. He also gave me a better shreder than the one offered on BF as they only had 5 to start the ad and the online was down and I stood and waited for 1 hour 30 minutes trying to get one order placed so he had me come back later in the week and he could not get more of the exact one so he gave me a better one off the shelf.

I like my Staples
