521255 I PNY 256MB ATTACHE FLASH DRIVE $39.98 - $25 - $5 easy rebate = $9.94

I'll probably pick up ones of those, since I've been meaning to get one for a while. And $15 is good even without the rebate.

ps, worst job ever.

At the store I work at part time, I printed off the sale item list at bf2004.net so we can start prepping for the sale early. The corporate office is keeping a tight lid on the ad fliers because they are under the misconception that it is still a secret, so in order to get the info we need to be ready we have to go through unofficial channels.

Theres really no reason to have done this. Your manager should have gotten all the communication from s@w. Theres a lot of communication up there if they had bothered to check. The lists that the OP posted, coupon lists, along with pictures of how the staffed/unstaffed tables are supposed to be set up are all there.

I've looked for hours and can't locate anything at all on this model.

Anyone know anything or is it perhaps a misprint?

ProView site doesn't even list it.

Somehow I suspect that could be a transposition, the item just below it is $5 off, with a much larger "easy rebate". I have a feeling that it has a $25 rebate, and is $5 off out the door.

If it is only $15, that's hot! Those PNY drives are nice, they have a write-protect switch too.

looks like it lacks DVI

Anyone have experience with Proview? I'd like to stick with an NEC or somthing I know but unless there is another LCD for $200 or under i might get this. I'm hoping some place online will have a good LCD deal as Staples is the only big electronics store in my town

I work at Staples on Saturdays - basically you can do all the rebates online now. When you buy something, the receipt prints out with a barcode and a number - you go to the website and type in the barcode number and your info and you're done with the rebate. If you really want to make it a piece of cake, ask them to do it in-store for you. Right after you buy it have them punch in the number on a Staples terminal and you're set with your rebate by the time you leave the store.

I don't think many companies are liking Staples right now, because most companies count on the fact that people are lazy and forget about the rebates...now it's easy...which means they're in trouble lol.

oh yah, I got one of the AT&T 900mhz phones with the $30 rebate a month or two ago, been working great with my wireless lan, and I just got the rebate back the other day.

I guess you're referring to this one:

504516 - INTERNAL 160GB 7200RPM = $129.98 - $55 (instant savings) - $35 easy rebate = $39.94

Not sure I would trust the I/O Magic's quality.

actually from just some brief google hunting... it looks like this drive is a rebadged benq. which is a DAMN nice drive.

i certainly plan on picking one of these up. and maybe that hard drive too... would love to stick with seagate as i already have one of their 160gb drives... but that's soooo damn cheap. and these easy rebate things look VERY handy.

staples is definitely my first stop on friday.

regarding EasyRebates...

There was an article in the Boston Globe recently (it's part of the paid archives so it's not available online for free anymore) that talked about it. The bottom line is that Staples wanted to make the rebate process simplier for the customer but mfg didn't trust a system whereby the UPC was not used. Mfg were asked to just offer the item on sale (no rebate) but of course the mfg count on buyers not submitting the rebate at all so the sale idea didn't fly. So with EasyRebates, some items (hopefully most or maybe all ?) will use the new system. Staples hopes that simplifying the process will drive more sales their way.

Other companies already have simple rebate processes. BJ's has had one in place for a while whereby a rebate receipt is printed by the cash register. You then go online, punch in the code on the receipt, add your name, address, and membership number (IIRC) and the check shows up at your door. Nothing to mail in.

Oh and thanks for the Black Friday preview !

Hey all,

Long time reader and new poster here.

Wondering about that hard drive deal at staples. Is it region specific or maybe the sale hasn't started yet? I called the local staples and the only hard drive they told me was on sale was a 60gb maxtor for $39.99. That's not hot. I want the 160gb baby!!

Thanks!

I am putting a new computer together today and need to purchase a new hard drive locally. The best deal I found so far is the 80gb at Circuit City for $39.99 after rebates. We don't have a fry's around here, so if anyone can recommend a better deal at a well known chain, please let me know!!

Thanks

They do have it in stock (at least at my Burbank store). Guy told me that they can't sell it/put it out though because it's for the Black Friday special.

Duh on me

I thought that might be, but something inside me was pushing that thought to the side. Hard to wait with the new Athlon 64 and motherboard sitting here next to me. Sorry for wasting thread space for an obvious answer

I'll keep browsing the hot deals for maybe another chain store HOT deal!

Right now, you can get a Seagate 160GB drive from Outpost.com. It's $99.99 - $50 MIR = $49.99

Original thread here.

Rebate expires 11/25

EDIT.....

They're also selling a 200GB Seagate for $119.99 - $50 MIR = $69.99

yeah like 99% of the stuff with rebates have Easy Rebates. There are very few exceptions, like promotional items with a rebate and discount or something like that.

Staples will price match on bf, but if the compeditor has a time limit (6-9 only) then you have to bring it in during that time. also if they have a limit then staples will only honor up to that limit.
