Vikroda..sounds like a BenQ..what is the firwmare?
If it is B7xx(retail BenQ) or G7xx(OEM fw from BenQ) then it is a BenQ

I'm assuming that it is not a BenQ. The sticker on the face plate says to update the drivers at www.dvrupdate.com, which seems to be down. Anyone know who the manufacturer is?

here

There's a couple ways dealing with box size and the specs on the side I think BTC has 4x in places where the BenQ has 2.4x and BenQ is 40x CD but BTC is 48x or something...just look in that thread!

The saga continues: The lady from Staples called back this morning and I was here to get the call. She said she had placed the order for me and it was scheduled for Tuesday delivery. She said it would show the full price of $129.94 on my credit card, but when it ships, she will refund $90 back to my credit card making the drive cost $39.94 and I won't have to mess with the rebates or anything. I don't know which drive it will be, but I'll post again when it gets here. Stay tuned....

UPDATE: I received the drive as promised and the final cost was $39.94! Unfortunately, it is the BTC drive but I guess for less than $40, I won't complain.

Staples took care of me today. I wanted the shredder and they only had maybe 5 so I heard while at office max in line that staples would let you order it online and get the price so I went back at 9.35 am and got in line and never got to order. At 10.50 I had to leave and went to see the store manager and explained my dalema and asked if I could leave my information and they could order one for me and I would then return and pay for it, he said he could not do that but to just stop back on Friday and he would take care of me. Today I stopped and there was a 6 page shredder waiting there for me instaed of the 5 page and it was $0.01 out the door no rebates. He had to show a sale or it was stealing but a penny versis rebate no problem

Thanks, my drive lists 48x CDR so it's a BTC. Also, thanks to gwlam12. Time to exchange it. Sigh.

Same here. I just got the e-mail this morning

Thank you for submitting your rebate request(s) through Staples Easy Rebates. We have received rebate information for the following product(s):

Maxtor 160GB 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive

Unfortunately, the requirement(s) for the promotion were not met, and your rebates have been invalidated for the following reasons(s):

Invalid purchase date

We apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for shopping Staples!

Conveniently the rebate center is only open monday-friday so there is no way to contact them till monday.

Maybe they should change the name to Sleazy Rebates or Easy Headache.:disgust:

Easy rebates sucks so far for me. I've been waiting to try and use it, but I keep on getting an error on the last page. I think I'll just submit it the old fashioned way, especially considering that everyone is getting their so-called easy rebates denied on the 160gb drive anyway.

I just searched for the rebate on the rebate website, then went to the print out the mail-in form (instead of filing online), and the mailing address has a Dept #, which is the offer number.

However, even though i finally got my submission in online, when i track it, it says they are waiting on the mail in portion, WTF?

I too printed out the mail-in portion had it in the envelops with stamps ready to go. Then I tried the easyrabates site once more and all my rebates finely went thru. Then just now checked the status and it says "Invalid Wrong Purchase date" I just called a CSR at Staples she claims all 11-26 purchases did not get billed until 11-29 due to volumes and Monday the clearing house will check all denied rebates and fix those actually ordered on the 26th.

Nick5324, There are two sites to check status for easyrebates online and one for mail-in I have been to both make sure you are using the correct link

Call to fix your rebate.

It really is easy.

They say that your postmark date got entered in as your purchase date, thats why it's invalidated.

I don't have a postmark date since I did the rebate via EZRebates...or maybe they are using the date I actually entered the information in...

I submitted my EZRebates last Thursday on the I/OMagic burner, Maxto 160GB disk and TEON media. They all show as pending. Staples would only accept one rebate on the TEON media even though I purchased both the DVD +R and the DVD -R spools. My bad, after rereading the rebate terms I guess you only get to submit one rebate no matter how many TEON products you purchased. One good thing though is the DVD -R's are burning at 12X and the DVD +R's at 8X in the I/OMagic (Benq) burner.

from what I have been told you can get more than 1 rebate on the Teon dvd+r/-r but they needed to be on separate receipts...but we shall see

I bought one pack of + and - on one receipt. I only got one full rebate receipt to print out and I couldn't register the easy rebate twice; however, the system saw that both were on the receipt and took them both.

I finally found a BenQ (using the hints above and in the other thread).

Has anyone gotten through on the phone recently to have their rebates corrected? Their system has apparently been down for the last week.

Also, I ordered two Teon DVD-R's because the rebate form said 2 per household.

LIMITS PER CUSTOMER/ADDRESS:

2 For Rebate #04-87754

Has Staples been honoring this? My invalid notice says invalid amount, too.

Invalid purchase date
Product Limit Exceeded

Four of my BF rebates were invalidated because the order date was supposedly invalid. This afternoon I managed to get through to a rebate CSR @ 866-737-4933 after a short wait . The CSR said he'd patch their mistake but I haven't checked it out yet. My shipping invoice shows the order date as BF so I expect they will honor their rebate offer one way or another. Wear earplugs if you call - their Muzak is awful. :music::frown:
