That sucks for you and those who ordered using a coupon. Fortunately, when I came back to PM, they credited me the full amount and charged me the full amount, so even though I used a coupon a week ago, it did not show up on the today's receipt, so I am in the clear. However, I doubt that they will decline the rebate if you use a coupon.

they cancelled my order and are sending some kind of coupon for my hassle. is crap though because I really needed the monitor. but she was pretty adamant that the memo they had received said they would not honor the rebate if a coupon showed up on the receipt. I hope you get it though. Good luck, and congrats on picking it up early.

I just spoke with a Staples CSR. Although it is now too late in the day for me to order the monitor & have it dated 11/23, I pointed out to her that the online rebate form for this SKU specifically states that purchase can be made at Staples.com. Although she had been informed that the rebate was unavailable online, she now feels that people who have ordered from Staples.com and have this rebate form may have recourse as far as the rebate.

Do not lose hope! Call Staples.com & read them that section from the rebate form. If you use this rebate form and keep copies, I don't see how Staples can refuse to honor the rebate. I do not care what they say, you will have it in writing! As long as your receipt is dated 11/23.

I told her that it didn't matter, I needed the monitor anyway and she said that they had none in stock and that is why they had to cancel the order. Bottom line is they are going to find a way to get out of it if you don't have one in your hand. Good luck to all though.

I doubt Staples refuse to honor the rebate if the reason is the purchase is online purchase. On the rebate form it clearly states "Rebate applies to an Envision EN-5100 15" LCD Monitor (SKU 450433) or an Envision EN-710 17" LCD Monitor (SKU 450426) purchased at Staples stores, Staples.com or Staples Direct only. " They have to honor the rebate coz the rebate form says it is good if buying from Staples.com.

I am not quite sure about the coupon stuff. But in the past I never had problems of getting rebate when buying with coupons.

BTW, the rebate form that I got at B&M says it's valid at Staples.com as well, so I think they WILL honor it.

I got in on this deal around 5am this morning. From looking at the rebate form on Staples site, I don't see how they can refuse the rebate. Gonna check with one of the reps in a few.

At about 7:30 this evening I placed an order with staples for the scanner they were offering today. The only diff I see was today it was 80 minus 10 instant and then a 60 rebate where now, it is 80 and then 60 rebate and only the 10 instant was this morning. spoke with staples direct, staples.com and staples rebate center on the phone and they all read the rebate form which I found on their site which clearly states it is good for 11/23/01 no specific hours and that it is good for purchases made at staples stores or staples.com or staples direct. So, I hope this deal works, if not I'v spent too much for this scanner. I also used a coupon 10 off 50 so this gets it back to only paying 10 dollars. I'll deffinitly have copies of all my paper work I send off including my order confirmation which I is dated 11/23/01 clearly at the top. Thanks for any info you guys have on this.

I also talked to a CSR and they told me that if you used a coupon either a B&M or online coupon they will not honor the rebate.
my question is do they require the ORIGINAL receipt? I don't have the rebate in front of me.

If anyone knows please let us know.

Also he told me that I may have to do a return and send in BOTH receipts with a short note on what happened.

Last time they had a $80 rebate on this monitor they honored the rebate when I used a B&M coupon but maybe they are changing policies because they realized what great deals people were getting.

They have to honor the rebate even if you used a coupon. It says no where on the rebate form that you cannot use a coupon.

Geeze everybody, relax!! How many times have we received rebates from Staples while using a coupon?? Dozens of times myself.... Quit calling the dang CSR's so they don't go put up a red flag at the rebate center. The rebate form clearly states the rebate conditions so why call and ask if they'll honor what it says in writing?? They have to honor it. Just send the dang forms in and don't worry about it.

OK, ranting complete, ..... I feel much better.....

Ordered mine at 12:30 am with a coupon. Got an order number but no confirm email. When I try to check my order status it says order number and zip code don't match. I did the live support thingy and the CSR said my order doesn't exist in their system! She said I can just go ahead and place my order again. Sure. Tried that and it says I've already used the coupon code - not to mention they're out of stock anyway. Well, if they don't have my order how do they know I used the coupon code? Guess it doesn't matter what the rebate form says. If they don't want to honor the rebate and a coupon maybe they'll just delete the orders? Is this just mine? Can others access their order status? Mine does show up in the order history BTW.

I remember getting the $80 rebate from the 17" monitor last year even though I used a coupon, if you are feeling paranoid and stressed with worry about the rebate, then either say a prayer, talk to you buddies, spouse, family or cat (or Dog,fish,hamster,roaches,etc) but don't drive the Staples CRSs nuts with stupid
questions that they really can't truthfully answer, or you could always just return it if and when you actually get it.
I'm just gonna mail in the forms (printed from the link) and take my chances , because I got it last year and am pretty confident I'll get it again..

When I try to check the status of this order, I am also getting the message that my zip code & purchase order number don't match WTF??????????

Update:
Leanne (Staples csr) informed me that I wouldn't be getting this monitor. Must be purchased at B&M or instore kiosk. Also, that coupon could not be used with rebate. I knew this already, but it bears repeating...STAPLES IS SUCK! :|

im afraid of the line i bolded. They can say that coupon is a promotion or offer and refuse your order. my order status is 'processing' but still no charge on cc or no email. I think i'm gonna cancel my order.

Actually the phrase, Offer not valid with any other rebates, offers or promotions has been used in previous Staples rebate forms in which many people have used coupons. There has never been a problem before, and I cannot understand how Staples can change their policy without a different disclaimer on the rebate form. Like everyone else, I would like to keep the monitor, but not if my rebate request is denied.

If I am correct, these rebates are handled by RebatesHQ. If this is true, who is the final decision-maker? Is it RebatesHQ or Staples?

Are there any Staples' employees here who can can give an authoritative answer on this rebate situation?

Like I said guys, I have used a coupon with literally DOZENS of Staples rebates. Don't worry about it!! And please quit bugging the CSR's about it. If you're worried about it don't open the monitor until you have confirmation of your rebate.

Please do not waste your time (and others). If you doubt if the STAPLES will honoer the rebate or not, call the STAPLES and rebate center yourself and get a formal reply.
I did. The CSR told me they do not know but they did NOT say the STAPLES WON't honor it and they kindly suggested to call rebate center, which is closed right now but she gave me the phone# 1-800-266-6483, which on your rebate form.
We here all know STAPLES. For what we paid, STAPLES has one of the best services and deals. (If you pay more at otherwhere, you may get better services, but not best deals, at least to most of us). Rebate of the STAPLES is quite reliable system (that's why we enjoy it), much better than order system, cancelling your order without notice.
I have two orders last night (11/22/2001). Two printers, a CD-burner and a 17" CRT. I know what will be happening. call to confirm orders, wait to receive, mail rebate forms and cash the rebate checks.

Exactly. And a coupon is not an offer, rebate, or promotion. It's a coupon. Period. A class of its own. Why do people always get so paranoid and then go and freak everyone else out?
