<< Ordered mine at 12:30 am with a coupon. Got an order number but no confirm email. When I try to check my order status it says order number and zip code don't match. I did the live support thingy and the CSR said my order doesn't exist in their system! She said I can just go ahead and place my order again. Sure. Tried that and it says I've already used the coupon code - not to mention they're out of stock anyway. Well, if they don't have my order how do they know I used the coupon code? >>

Buybye - this happened to me. I ordered the Envision 15" at 12:09am and the Envision 17" at 1:09am, and didn't get the email on the 15" for a LONG time - it showed up at 2:09pm today, 13 hours after the order was placed. When I tried modding the URL to check the order, it said it couldn't find it, and when I called, they couldn't find it in the system. HOWEVER, my CSR said not to order it again, as the order WAS in there somewhere, since it said I had already used the coupon code.

Once I got the email this afternoon, the URL still didn't work, I tried it about 5-10 times before it loaded.

I'd say keep checking the site for your order, it might show up.

<< Like I said guys, I have used a coupon with literally DOZENS of Staples rebates. Don't worry about it!! And please quit bugging the CSR's about it. If you're worried about it don't open the monitor until you have confirmation of your rebate. >>

If i had gotten an email confirmation of my order, I wouldn't give a damn. However, I did not. I'm not in the least worried about the rebate ,but instead if my order would be processed. Apparently, it will not.

Haha, what a joke?! How can you cut the UPC without damage the monitor box? Ok, you may say use a cutter to cut the first layer of the box and get the UPC, or the maybe the UPC is a sticker so we can peel it off from the box. Well, then what do you do if you learn your rebate is denied later on? Return the monitor? How can you return it without the UPC? Staples won't accept it!

If they don't honor rebates, hey, don't worry, there comes a class action baby!! You don't need a competent attorney to win this case. The edge is clearly on our side.
The real concern now is whether Staples will ship the online orders or not. Remember the visor deluxe case back in August? Staples cancelled most of orders to get out of it...

1) The sticker can be peeled off easily
2) There are two UPCs
3) Any other questions?

As mentioned previously, i did the online order using a coupon, early Thursday morning ('bout 2:30am, IIRC)...

I received my online order confirmation a few moments after ordering, and after checking it's status a couple minutes ago, the order still "appears" to be going through. It's listed similar to breweyez's order details, with delivery date of the 27th.

Maybe they will try to deny my rebate... I doubt it, but my local staples B&M manager (and others if necessary) will certainly hear about it if they do.

So what is the condition of this hot deal? I got one monitor with 30 off 150 coupon in store. I am wondering if I could get the rebate back. Is there anyone contacted the CSR today?

tobetrue.
Just send the rebate in, keep copies of everything. That's all there is to it. Very, very simple. Please read my previous posts.

I'm still waiting on the status of my online order -- order is processing. I emailed the rebate center to ask if my online purchase w/coupon qualifies for $100 rebate. I haven't received a reply yet.

My order did go through, and the order delivery date is on the 27th. We'll see if I get them.

My status says "shipped" and I found a valid UPS tracking number (by doing a search for reference number on the UPS site). Looks like this is going to happen.

To get your tracking number:

1. Go to UPS site
2. Click "TRACK"
3. Click "REFERENCE NUMBER" under the icons at the top of the page
4. For the reference number, enter your Staples order number
5. Enter your destination zip code and select your destination country
6. Click "Track" button under destination country

If both you and the shipper have entered everything correctly, that should bring up tracking info, including your UPS tracking number. (If the shipper mistyped the order number or zip code when the package shipped, you're screwed.)

If you register with "My UPS", you can save undelivered tracking numbers and check status without having to enter them again.

Hope this helps!

What is your interpretation?

Brief Background:
The 17" Envision monitor had a $100 MIR IF purchased on Black Friday. (now it is $65 and an additional $15 if done by the 11/27)

Staples has informed me: (along with many of you I assume)
We were unable to apply coupon code 71XXX to your order for the following reason:

Required purchase has not been made, with the rebate on this item, the item only ends up being
59.98. Therefore you cannot use the coupon with this order.

Are they being fair legally or have I gone over the edge in how I interpret what a coupon is?
They provide a link for their coupon policy but I still disagree with their interpretation. (below is the policy)

Any legal scholars want to take a stab at this one?

In the past, I thought they were overly generous with how they handled pricematching and then the full 'money off coupons' based on the original price.

However I see this scenario differently. What if i dont mail in the MIR? (which seems to be the case in about 50% of all MIRs, though this one will probably have a much higher utilization rate than most MIR's due to the high $$)
I think they would have a better but still unconvincing argument about multiple offers not allowed:
The MIR specifically states the "Offer not valid with any other rebates, offers or promotions." But for that to work they would have to interpret a coupon as the promotion.

Important Restrictions:

Coupons are not transferable.
Coupons may only be used once and cannot be used on subsequent orders.
Void where prohibited.
No cash or credit back.
Coupon must be submitted at time of order.
Expired coupons are not valid.
Tax and shipping are not included in calculating minimum purchase requirement.
Coupons not valid on previous purchases.
Only one "Dollars off" coupon per purchase. (see definition below)
Minimum purchase requirement for "Dollars off" coupon must be met with purchases to which no other coupon or instant savings offer applies.
"Product specific " coupons may be combined with other coupons as long as the purchase requirement of each coupon is met independently. (see definition below)
Dividend$ checks can be redeemed on any order.
Definitions
"Dollars off" coupons provide a general discount off of your order total.
"Product specific" coupons provide a discount off of a specific product.

I had the same experience as c0pperas. Thanks, Richard for the tip on tracking by reference. My coupon went through with no problem.

As to the $15 & $65 rebates, Envision says that Staples and Staples.com are not participating retailers for these rebates. $15 & $65 rebate thread here

Staples has a $70 rebate for purchases from 11/23/2001 to 12/01/2001. x

My monitor arrived today... after checking Envision's website, I can also confirm what's already been stated, Envision's website lists participating vendors (Staples isn't participating in the $65+15 Rebates) as seen HERE.

The only problem i see with getting the $100 rebate, is that so many people seem to be calling up Staples and asking about it.

Plenty of people have used online coupons for other Staples deals in the past, and then redeemed the Staples rebates without any problems, so if this rebate falls through, i think it will be because of all those people that brought to attention how cheap these would end up being after a coupon was applied.

So what is the verdict here on the orders placed over the web? Will Staples honor the $100 rebate if it was purchased online? The rebate form certainly says that orders placed on 11/23/01 thru Staples.com are valid. Would a coupon invalidate the purchase? It just doesn't make any sense to me.

I'm almost willing to play it safe and use the $70 rebate instead of the $100 rebate. Any opinions on this?

UPS delivered my monitor today -- 2 UPC codes. I'm going to try for the $100 rebate. If rejected, I'll mail in the $70 rebate. By the way, I just talked to a friend who bought the monitor from Staples earlier in the month and used a $30 coupon. He just got confirmation that the rebate is approved lending further support to the notion that coupons do not invalidate rebates.
