Well, I got there at 7:07 and left at 7:10 - Hope y'all price matched, cause the only thing left at my local B&M was the Free Web-Cam.

Maybe next time at least make an effort to have enough inventory to make the 2 day sale last longer than two minutes.

Don't use the Black Friday sales link. Goto staples.com and search for item 450426. Get the coupon that is floating around for $30 off $150 and order yourself a $30 (plus tax) monitor after MIR. The rebate states it must be ordered today does not state a time. if you order it online. BTW free shipping also....

I really should know better, but every so often I think these in-store deals might actually be available. I went this morning, found the little card table with the in-store special signs and no merchandise, and left. Staples continues to do as they have done. I'll do my best to avoid giving them my money....at least for a little while

The Staples in Palm Desert (CA) was horribly disorganized. I went in at 7 am to get the Epson printer (which turned out FREE after MIR because I had a $10 off $40 B&M coupon for giving a store review last month) and the 25 sheets Xerox photo paper for $2.97.

People were P.O.'d - they only had ONE Palm Vx and ran out of everything else in minutes.

In contrast, Curcuit City was the MODEL of the way a sale should be run. Got the Panasonic DVC camcorder ($399 financed interest free for 12 months), free camera bag, free laptop bag, free 20 AA Maxell alkaline batteries, and free mini-USB hub (all after MIRs, of course). I arrived about 7:30 AM and there was PLENTY of stock and PLENTY of salesmen and PLENTY of happy customers.

OD was a disaster - almost no one showed up (I got the 30 GB Maxtor HD for $69 and the 4x external USB/IDE Philips CD-RW for $119 - after MIRs of course). Actually, the OD online staff was out for the 4 day weekend and there were no rebates to be had from the registers. I have to return on Monday (and it is likely I will get to use ANOTHER $30 online cupon) to get the rebates and price adjustments.

At OD, customers swapped horror stories about Staples and WORST BUY. Frankly, I may throw a party when BB files for Chapter 11 (sorry to the employees, but they can ger better jobs most anywhere). Beast Buy hasn't got a clue about customer service and Staples is following their cue . . .

My adventure at Staples on 11/23/01 ... 7:00 am

I was second person in the store.

They weren't quite ready for the 5 or 6 of us waiting. Just two people to attend to us (a pink shirt and a red shirt).
They were pretty accomodating though.

I got the 20 gig Maxtor
128 Meg Memory
Total for $100.00 and then applied a 20 off 100 with no trouble.
Will get it all for 20 + tax on 100

On a separate order I got the Dymo labeler for 57 less 57 rebate. I also got some Photo Paper (more later) and
applied a 10 off 40 coupon.

Paper Saga .... Wanted the Xerox paper on sale ... They looked all over for it but couldn't find it. I wasted over 1/2
hour waiting for them. Finally I got 30 sheet packs of Staples brand photo paper for the same price (2.95 each).

The second order .. Dymo labeler and paper rang up for 57 with tax and after 10.00 coupon. Will end up gettng
it for free after Dymo rebate.

Was able to give two extra 10 off 40 to two other customers in line with me. They were delighted.

Incidentally this was at the 40 St / 6 Ave Manhattan store. It was not a mob seen at all. Just a little lack of
preparation at the beginning.
