I don't think there is a rush on this though. The coupon is good until March 23rd and the mail in rebate lasts until February 20th. Waiting to see if the price goes down in the next couple of days may be the right thing to do.

On the other hand. The drive may be sold out in a couple of days. This is after all UDMA 100.

It looks like the deals can be combined. The Controller card says "on hard drive kits starting with .... K01 ...." and the maxtor drive part # starts with K01.

But we need UPC from the drive for $20 MIR.

I called the Staples rebate center (for a previous deal) and they will take a copy of the UPC if you sent the original in to the manufacturer.

BTW. I decided to jump on the deal sans ATA controller card.

Word of warning if you use the 30 off coupon now you wont be able to get the pricematch when the price becomes lower because tehy will say the 30 coupon is off 100 so that means we can pricematch it to the sale price of 79.98
SO
use the 25$ off 75 couopon and they have to still pricematch it
so that comes to in the end after pricematch and mir 35

What exactly is the new price going to be for the forthcoming sale? From what HawkeyeNJ is saying -- the BEST DEAL is to get it via the web site and have it for $50 after rebate... right?

The ATA100 card is NO GOOD, it requires the KIT version -- which Staples sells, but not with the rebate.

In any event, my nearest store is 40+ miles, so online with free shipping is better anyway.
