no, i know that wouldn't work. but i'm trying to buy a digital camera and after the pricematch, it is still around $315. so the coupon still should work.

This is funny. I bought the Maxtor HDD w/o the controller and the MSN kit and used the 30 off 100 coupon. The total should come to $70 plus tax = $76.02

Then I went to check my order status to find this:

Subtotal: $99.99
Tax: $8.60
Shipping: $0.00
Total: $108.59

Damn, where the heck is my MSN kit and what about my coupon?
I emailed the customer support to report a missing item. Strangely, the representative said "I apologize for the confusion with the status of your order. Our system shows that your order has 2
items on it, one being the MSN kit. We are also showing that you
have a $30 coupon applied. The
information that I have indicates that you will be charged $76.02."

Can someone help me with this please?

well, i finally got them to do a PM over the phone and used the 40 dollar coupon. i got a nice csr this time and he did it no problem. had been having some problems yesterday. plus, he only charged me $20 for shipping. the other people were trying to charge me more. i guess it really does depend on who you're dealing with.

The CSR confirmed your order, confirmed your coupon, and said you would be charged what you should be. What's the problem?

The problem is that staples says the msn 0.01 kit is out of stock and they are just leaving the order as is without the kit and without the coupon since 99.99 isn't enough for the coupon. I'm in the same boat, I asked them to add a different item to my order but they haven't said anything to me, after like..3 or 4 emails ago now, too. So I don't know what's going on but it sure is frustrating!!

 

[WHY]

When Staples splits shipments, each box contains only the invoice for the item(s) contained therein. They'll attach the coupon to ONE of the invoices- in this case, the coupon will be on the MSN $.01 invoice. It may be out of stock at the moment, but you can be sure if its an MSN disk it WILL be right back in stock and on your doorstep!! Don't worry. The actual CC charges will be correct.

I got the email a few days ago saying that my order was on hold b/c the hard drive was out of stock, asking if I wanted a partial shipment.
I just got off the phone with a CSR who said that there were 30 drives in Florida and she re-entered the item onto the order and it accepted it to pull it from there. At first the system wouldn't, but now it did. If you're in the same boat as me with it coming up as out of stock, call and see if this will work for you, too!

Now I just hope it shows up...I sure don't want the controller card without the drive!

Got the 20GB drive I ordered from Staples.com in the mail yesterday. It is a Kit and has a sticker for the $50 ATA 100 Card Rebate right on the front of the box with coupon inside.
