Eudora Pro for free could be a good deal. The regular version is already free provided you allow advertising to come along with your mail reading. The Pro version eliminates the advertising.

If you have a fast connection, it may not be worth the effort of getting the rebate. Just use the free version.

But...... the other deals may be fine for you!

The D-Link player isn't bad for those that missed out on the Best Buy with rebate hot deal.

People, haven't you learned yet how to do a Staples deal like the Staples Queen (big grin). You can use a coupon and get that net price down to around 30 or 25 or..... Some people get rebate checks from Staples for the full price no matter what they paid because if you order online all you get is a invoice with no price -SOMETIMES- so you may even get the net price down further. You shouldn't count on that when doing the deal. Think of it as an added bonus if you get it. Of course if you do a 40 coupon by adding something else with a rebate...well do the math IF you have a 40 dollar coupon. There was one but it expired yesterday. Sometimes they will still take them. We are already on this one to see if we can work it

Here is the semi-hot deal. With some work you can probably find a better deal but even my Staples Queen has an outside life from Deal Hunting

D-Link Player 441193
Camera 453142
Canon Ejay Software 441878

Total 174.94
minus coupons 64.99
40-10-14.99
109.95 plus tax with a CSR ..You can get this deal on the website for 119.95

rebates
80 for D-Link
30 for Software

Your results will vary and this includes no price matching. If you can find some price match deals you can make it even hotter.

We have so much software from these Staples Deals that was added just to get a deal that my house looks like Electronics Boutique.

An alternative to this deal
D Link
Camera
and something else that will get the total to 150
then take off the 40, 14.99, and 10 if you can find it. The CSR she talked to wouldn't let her do it saying that the 14.99 took it under 150 and we have some place to go and didn't want to hassle with trying another order. However, she has pulled this kind of thing off before so give that a try if your area is out of the Ejay.

here is what I came up with
(and it is a sad state of affairs when it is a beautiful day and you are such a Stone Cold deal hunter that you have to get the one last staples deal 'cause you know they are going to sell out)

D link mp3 player
camera
wafers to get it to 150..i love these but have to sneak them because my personal trainer gives me the EVIL EYE when I eat them
http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Browse/SKU.asp?BCFlag=False&PageType=1&SKU=389524

40 off coupon..it has expired but they still take it
14.99 coupon
couldn't use 10 coupon because I have used it in all my accounts
so my total was around 99 with tax
-80 D link rebate
so this particular deal will net cost about 20

As you can see..there are all kinds of ways to do a Staples Deal

When you see a deal that you think is HO HUM don't short change it..it just takes a little creative thinking..you could also try to get that free ink jet paper but I didnt try it because I have gotten that in all my accounts too :-(

If your CSR makes you add stuff to get to 150 other than the camera they have Acid software for 39 with 29 rebate. Try to price match it somewhere. I think most of you will find that free software out of stock by now ..oops the site says 29.97 rebate but the rebate says 39.97..still price match it and you might make money

403...A tech head would probably associate something else with the word wafers. La Bandita's version is something you eat that is not exactly nutritious. A personal trainer would rather see her eat fruit. LOL.

The D-link rebate is on Staples site. We also have a rain check for Best Buy but last time I checked they didn't even have a purchase order for it, yet.

There is a red hot deal to get this thing for net cost of free with two coupon codes. One involves an instant savings code for this item from a Staples circular. I am going to give it a try in a minute. People keep forgetting the tax on this which will add in the vicinity of 5 bucks.

Remember that there can be two different ordering numbers. There is a Staples number and an IM number for some items. They gave us a song and dance about how a piece of free/rebate software was out of stock and no where else was available to "dcc" it. Once we dug up the IM number, TA DA..we could order the item. Digging up the IM number can be a pain.

Sheba, it depends on the code you use. There is a 40 one that expired but I have been told they still allow it. I don't know for how many days.
I just tried to use a code...probably the same one you used and the CSR gave me a hassle telling me it is 40 off your first order of 150 and since that account had already placed orders it wasn't valid. I asked to speak to a supervisor and after a little while he came back on and gave it to me. Then he started hassling me about something else. So I just said forget it. You have to know when to cut the phone call and try again later. Though, I have heard that they get fired if they hang up on you and some people claim if you persist you will eventually get what you want. I don't know about that. Never tried to fillibuster them.

Btw, I have never had a problem with them honoring whatever the store deal is. I don't know if you meant on the website or if you meant 'online staples'. Alot of deals wont' go through on the web if they involve more than one coupon. You have to call the CSR.

Here is another deal.

Peachtree accounting software free after rebate. 149.95. You will probably have to throw in an eraser to use a coupon.

Supposedly because your information in the shipping box doesn't come with a price you get the 149.95 no matter what you paid.
I have a rebate coming from Peachtree 7 that was 150..now it is 119 and the peachtree 8 is 150

I dont know if you can get rebates on both but I would think you could..different products

I always order by phone with Staples.. and use product specific coupons and dollars off because they do not seem to work at staples.com and at least you know that it is going right that way Does anyone know if you can buy 1 Win ME and then buy a bunch of the items that have MIR's and get rebates on ALL of them? They only ask for a copy of the windows receipt and original Upcs on the individual products? Everyone keeps talking about the disposable camera.. with coupon.. I got a 35mm vivitar from them for free with coupon
thx

They usually have some free bonus going on whether it is paper or cameras or school supplies. I am surprised that Vivitar is still around. I had forgotten about it. That could make for a useful "get you to the required amount if the Staples CSR will let you do it" scenario

I have to say they are really good about problems when you go up the ladder unlike some other companies..Circuit City comes to mind. Circuit City is on my hit list
When I had to return an order that Staples screwed up they let me keep the free bonus that came with it...it was the free school supplies deal. There is rarely a thing that I can't find a use for...even that angryman.com magnet has become very useful in the battle of the sexes

Glad to see another Staples Head running around, Sheba ..it helps when trying to figure out all the angles on a Staples deal..there are so many of them..hee hee

Guys, I suspect that these D-link MP3 players are going so cheap because they're obsolete, i.e. they've been replaced by a newer model (with USB connectivity) and are no longer in production. This model no longer appears on the D-link website as a current product. They're probably just trying to get the old stock off the shelves to make room for the newer model.

Huesmann, I am sure you are right. The first clue was when Best Buy blew them out at such a ridiculous price compared to shelf price and Office Max scurried to reduce the price to match it for the week. All the local stores that price matched ran out of inventory that week. Staples didn't even carry it then.

However, if you can get this thing for a few bucks it will be worth it. I doubt you can sell them on fleabay for much because it is flooded with sales. Closer to Christmas you might be able to unload them on the unsuspecting public when supply is depleted.

My 'local' warehouse which is NO WHERE near me had 164 this morning.

You're right, but I swear a couple of weeks ago when the Best Buy deal came out I went to look at the Dlink website and they had a different model of the MP3 player, and not this one anymore, like DMP-110 or something like that, and it was USB. Maybe I was just hallucinating, because it seems to be gone and the old one back.

or the webmaster screwed up and is sending you to the old mp3 player description. My hunch is that a USB model is coming out..that would be "new". These other ones have been out for awhile. If they were so new I don't think best buy would have blown them out at that price

All of my D-link orders were done over the phone. I received a phone message today telling me that they were out of stock and try back in a few weeks.

Needless to say, I got on the phone on this one. Here is one thing a CSR offered until he found out the amount of the rebate. He said he could just take it off of the price. Well, heck yeah I would take that. (keep that in mind for future deals) Instead, I am getting them shipped from some remote area. During the phone conversation he "suddenly just learned" that the warehouse had found 300 of them and they are to be shipped in October with an invoice date of this week for the rebate IF YOU TRUST THAT ONE. That didn't suit me so I negotiated something else.

If you get the phone call that they are out, call them up and see what version of the Staples saga you are subjected to.

I wonder how many people that had their orders cancelled will get one if they do not call. Maybe Staples had second thoughts about that $80 rebate.

I, too got the "out-of-stock" email on the d-link MP3 player. I called back and my csr was teriffic - very nice AND (suprisingly) helpful. She arranged for me to pick it up at the local B&M Staples (3 miles away) and that the manager would honor the $40 "online" coupon. Combine that with the $80 rebate and the player cost a HOT-HOT-HOT $15 (including tax). I'll get that back on the coupon for the fully rebated software I'm about to order.

FYI: in talking to the manager, I learned that all of the rebates are entirely vendor supported-the vendors pay the whole amout (thought that was interesting).
