I thought you meant $50.88 each at first...
Nice going, were the drives already marked at this price?
No advertisement at all.
Went to the Tinley Park, IL at 8:50 am on a hunch. I just asked the sales associate "Chris" if they had item# 504516 remaining. Store inventory said quantity of 2 for $29.50 each but could not find it in the locked room, they checked twice. Asked them to check other Chicago area stores and showed 9 at store #1611 (Wabash & Washington). Called and physically confirmed that they had 9 in stock. Told them I want 3 transfered or buy it (still $29.50 in my mind). Surprised when he entered the item# on the register and says "that will be $10.24 each". Associate thought I only wanted 1. Wow, thats a killer price I say in my mind. I ask if can I have all 9, greedily smiling. He calls back the store and manager says max of 3. Rings up 3 for total of $30.71. Associate says I'll get the drives by Tuesday. I walk out dazzed.
Call the 1-800 *** Staples and see if I can order thru the phone and get drives from store $1611. No go, I'll have to pay regular price of $109.98, tax and shipping. Cannot match in-store clearance price. Call the Wabash store and ask for 3 more to be put on hold. Gave my name and made sure I got the associates name.
Drive 26 miles to Chicago and find a empty parking spot 50 feet from the store. See my 3 HDD that I paid for in the Tinley Park store in the UPS counter. I look for an associate and tell her I'm here for a item that is on hold. Talk to manager and ask if I can just get the drives a ordered earlier and show my receipt. No problem, saves shipping on their part. Associate brings the 3 drives on hold. Rings up to $20.17 after $10 off $10 or more coupon.
Sorry for bragging and being greedy, but I rarely get into this kind of deal, ever....
