Staples Hot deals going bad!!!! Be carefull

I know this really shouldnt be here but there is just to many of us that have jumped on these deals over the past few days.
Check your orders.
Many people are starting to report that prices are being changed, and coupons being removed, and items being cancelled.
Make sure you printed out your final bill with the correct totals.
I just checked and was charged .49 for a pen with 8.50 UPS shipping.
Staples seems to be back to their old tricks!!!!!

Remember, if you are over 50, shipping is always free. If they charge you wrong, the beauty of ordering at staples is you can always go to te store to return the stuff, provided you have the confirmation and prices of your order. Any errors, at least at my local Staples in NYC, they are always happy to straighten out, often going out of their way to clarify stuff for me.

Maybe this should be in "Brag & Moan", but same thing happened to me. Luckily I caught it before they actually shipped it out. My biggest complaint is that they don't bother to send out emails when an order or a portion, thereof, is cancelled.

my damn dlink pos mp3 player got removed. good thing i order the mp3 player and hp 9150i separately.

check your emails for status changes. CHANGES IN YOUR ORDER WILL NOT BE REFLECTED IN YOUR ORDER HISTORY IF YOU ARE LOGGED INTO YOUR STAPLES ACCOUNT.

Just wait until whatever you ordered arrives and then call a CSR to dispute any changes. You have only authorized them to charge a specific amount for specific products. Once you've gotten whatever they shipped, they can either pay for you to ship it back to them, refund the coupons that they removed from your order, or take it up with your CC company when you dispute the charge.

Simple as that.

They did something like that to me about 5 months ago when that one thread on how to do a price match and coupon for an Elsa GF2 GTS was in here. It was a whole mess and I just ended up returning it and I'm still disputing stuff related to that purchase with my credit card company. They charged my card again after the sale! I've had so many bad experiences over the past year, trying to get stuff cheaper that I'm just going to stick to one place from now on, and that's buy.com.
They've always taken care of me with everything, including discount links and paying for returns on defective stuff. Forget Stapples and also those fly-by-night price watch dumps!

The confusion seems to be coming from (1) bad communication from Staples over unavailable products and (2) their shipping policy.

Using myself as an example - my dLink player was out of stock so they sent me an email telling me so and said my order was on hold for up to 72 hrs pending a response from me over what to do with the rest of the order. The current status on the order reflects the missing MP3 player and $40 rebate (since the min $200 purchase is no longer met without the player). Had the HP burner also been out of stock, I would be left with a pen and excess shipping for being under the $50 free-shipping limit.

So check your email - and make sure the address you gave to Staples is legit. If they've not emailed you and your order status shows missing parts, that's their error. Call their CSR to get a verbal status on your order.

If you live close to staples its safer to go the to B&M so you can have to stuff on right there and than instead of waiting for it and worrying about where it will arrive on time and the free shipping. Yesterday I was able to buy 2 60gig drive w/free memory and used the 30off150 coupon on each of them.

My D-link MP3 player was removed as well. I called and cancelled the order prior to shipment today. Furthermore, the coupon was not credited since the order total did not reach $200 (once the player was removed)

I would of went to the B&M Staples but they didn't carry the Elsa cards. It was a special "Imgram Micro" order through their web site only.

Staples is getting goofy... I just called for PM and two CSRs would not PM their own stores. Both said "it is in store-only promotion". So, I said "Well, if it is, I can just take the item to store, process the return and and buy it instantly at lower price, so why go through all the hassle". No go...

Fact is I don't want to have to dispute charges for a .50 pack of binder clips they want to charge me $9 for. If I'm not getting the burner, I don't want to mess with the other crap.

Okay, I had to email them to find out what's up. They finally replied saying both the HP and Dlink had been dropped and that my order was &quot;on hold&quot; with a 10 pack of jewel cases. Am I'm reading this correct - my order WILL NOT be processed unless I tell them to? I told them to cancel it via email, but that was yesterday and I haven't heard back from them yet...

Just check Order Status (not order history) online. I ordered late Saturday &amp; the Order Status showed early sunday morning that they were only filling part of my order.

Not sure if this belongs here, but as long as we are on the subject of Staples, I might as well add my 2 cents in.

I tried to PM at Staples over the weekend. The store manager was a real bastard. He tried everything he could think of not to give me the price. After he confirmed the deal was legit from Fry's, he called to make sure they have it in stock. Fry's was out. So he denied the PM.

Office Depot was not like this. I bought a USB Zip from them for $50 after PM with CompUSA. CompUSA was out of stock, but OD manager gave it to me anyways.

So if you plan to PM an item that is out of stock, don't go to Staples. Save yourselves some gas money.

just got off the phone with the cs rep, everything i ordered is outta stock! oh well, CANCELLED them all, now I just gotta watch my credit card! if you didn't get a confirmation email, that probably means it didn't go through! good luck to the rest of ya!
