Staples In-store price much higher than web site "regular" price?

Anyways, I picked up a Sandisk Extreme SSD at Staples today, they've been on sale all week.

64GB for ~$55
120GB for ~$110

Seemed like a decent price. Yes, I know that you can get a Mushkin Chronos (non-deluxe) 120GB SSD for ~$90 at Newegg.

Both are SandForce 2nd-gen controllers.

Edit: Deal is DEAD, Staples starts their new sales on Sunday.

On occasion, I've noticed that the price for an item at my local Staples B&M was higher, but when you point the sales people to their own site, they've matched it especially since you can always order most items online for in store pick up the same day at no extra charge.

Gas is expensive enough that it's worth calling your local store to confirm both price and stock before driving.

Best Buys does the same thing. I've had a manager price match the web price before. Just showed an employee the web page with price on my phone, they call a manager. Manager logs on, checks web price, then price matches.

I just did a PM to their website yesterday on an Antec 120MM fan which was $5.49 In store price was $15.99 just told the cashier about the price and they checked on the monitor and PM

Can of compressed air was $11 in my local staples. Laughed, left and went to sprawl mart. Got 2 for $10. Ridiculous how much they want for some stuff at Staples sometimes...

Plus both Staples and Best Buy, maybe others have shifted most commodity items to house brands so no price match, and crazy high prices compared to online sources, and the house brands like Dynex, are not even average quality.

^^^So true. Went into Best Buy to get a 15ft ethernet cable (didn't want to wait for shipping). The cheapest they had was a Dynex at $18 and it was not even in a plastic covered package it was kind of wrapped up around a carboard peice to hang it up. I said forget that walked into Home Depot next door got 15ft cable for less than $6 and it had proper packaging. BB gets you with the "might as well while I am here purchases," meaning your buying a TV or Blue-Ray for a good deal so you might as well get the HDMI cables and thats where they get you with the largest markups.

Barnes & Noble does this as well, saw a programming book I wanted on sale online, called the local store and they had it, but for ~$20 more! After double checking that I couldnt order online and pick up at the store for that price I just hung up and ordered from Amazon...
