Thanks OP! I've been needing to shred a bunch of junk mail and my old shredder wasn't up to the task.

EDIT: I just opened mine up to try it out. There were finger prints on the stainless portion of the shredder and also little bits of shredded paper in it. Oh well, it seems to work just fine.

has anyone got one of these yet? read if you do more than one cd a day with it, the unit will overheat. there is a 12% in store coupon floating around too, dropping the price down to $41 after rebate/coupon if you get it in store.

We have these set up at the store where I work. We also have a stack of CD's so we can demonstrate it to customers. Been shredding CD's like crazy the past couple days and haven't seen one overheat yet. The motor is comparable to that of a 10-sheet cross cut, so it should hold up pretty well.

Well, almost everything. The discount does not apply to computers or clearance items.

Not sure I understand the question. EPP is the extended service plans we sell, and our employee number is to track service plan sales. When you present your coupon, the 12% will automatically come off your entire purchase of items that don't meet the criteria I mentioned above.

picked this up today, used a $30 off $75 - bought $5.01 of filler at store and 12% staples coupon, this thing is amazing. i shredded over 100 pages of junk mail i had in a plastic bag for months and several windows 95 cd's, , the unit kept going strong, didn't overheat one bit. it did those plastic paper clips and staples too, the tray is kinda tiny, but its super easy to empty. my total cost was $20 after rebates/coupons, well worth it.

Yes, I believe so. So, this means that you should be able to shred lettice with it as well.

Mine just came in the mail. At first I was worried due to the very poor packaging but then I tried it out. Works extremely well, no overheating problems whatsoever. I am amazed at how small the shredded pieces are coming out of this thing especially since I am not opening any of the envelopes to shred them. I even did a blank cd, no pieces larger than a 2 mm x "Caps Lock" key length. I guess longevity is the important thing though. Also, easy electronic rebates from Staples are the shizzle.

Does anyone actually use the shredder oil stuff on a regular basis? Does it help?
