a dirrent ide cable..also make sure the dvdrw is master and not a slave..also try using a 80pin cable as opposed to 40pin

not normal ..my PD DW1620A (flashed to G7P9 firmware) doesn't have an issue with audio CDs.. running it as slave to an LTR 812s/832s ...no high pitch whine thru my TBSC at all... goodluck
