Office Depot is also having the Brother HL-2140 laser printer for $49.99 starting Sunday, Feb 15.

I own the Brother HL2140 laser printer. I got it for $49 at Staples last year, and I give it big thumbs up, especially at that price. It's a very solid printer.

The Brother HL-5240 looks like a better deal on a laser printer, cheaper cost per page and also the initial toner should last about 3,000 pages vs the 1,000 pages the HL2140 only has which makes up the $50 difference in price.

How is it as far as toner costs?

I heard that some of the smaller Brother units have a higher maintenance/toner cost because every once in a while, you have to replace the drum in addition to regular toner replacement.
