I check the visioneer, not sure if you can give staples a copy of the upc since both the manufacture and staples may want the original upc code...

I have an old visioneer parallel scanner. Works fine for me. Would like alittle more speed though

I use a Visioneer usb scanner and the speed is awesome. If you have ever used a parallel port this will blow your mind. I would definately buy from them again.

This scanner deal is a good one. I just looked online...(in my area), I can purchase it online (1 day shipping, who know what s/h costs though)....I can do the Staples MIR online too - and I quote from their online rebate page: "Please attach the following information to the mailable form on Step 7:
Original or a copy of the UPC Code "

Someone above mentioned to check how you could use one UPC for 2 MIR's...but Stapes doesn't require the original UPC...(if you do the MIR online that is, if you use the printed MIR, you'll need the original MIR). Needless to say, just photocopy the sucka and get your Staples MIR, then get your MIR from the Visioneer using the original UPC.

How about this:

Why not get Staples.com to pricematch their own flyer - $75
Add some good stuff to get you over $100.

Use a $25 off $100 coupon....gives you an extra $25 of goods free
Then when you get the $60 back for the 2 MIRs you have only laid out $15 for $100 worth

Staples has their MIR on their page.
Go to Visioneer.com to get theirs.

Only problem you might have is getting them to drop the $5 to PM.....but surely they will match their own store

I actually picked up Microsoft Streets/Maps for $29.97 (put my order at $109, used a $25 off coupon, but the software has a $20 MIR - so in the end, I will have gotten the scanner + the software for about $5.00 - which now, I'll turn right around, sell the scanner to my sister for $50 (cuz she wants a scanner so badly).

Murpheeee, I must be blind. I am looking at the Staples Rebate instructions and I cannot see where it says a COPY of the UPC is acceptable. This is what it says (step 2 is where it mentions the UPC):

they just have their way of first processin the rebate and re=processing it

are we sure that the Visioneer rebate isn't the same one as the Staples rebate? not only are they the same address but the Visioneer rebate looks very similar to the Staples B&amp;M rebate forms.

Can anyone verify?

OK, I see it. If you choose &quot;Print Mail-in form&quot; it does say a copy is acceptable. I had used &quot;Complete Online Form&quot; and then printed the mail in form that you fold into an envelope for mailing in your reciept and UPC. It does NOT say a copy is acceptable on that.

Well the Staples rebate goes to:

The Manufacturer's goes to:
Visioneer Rebate, ( Dept. 00-33300 ), P.O. BOX 3063, Coppell TX 75019

I think this is advertised in the coming weekend flyer, with the 2 rebates although it says - Valid in store only. But that maybe just refers to the $5 off sale price, its still listed online as $79.99

I usually get my weekend flyers a day early....ie on Saturday, I'll post and let you know.

Yeah...the addresses are very similar. But, it could just be that they are using the same rebate fullfillment organization.

The PO Boxes are different...which is a good sign.

Man, we really need to know if it is possible to submit and collect the 2 rebates! ... It makes this a REAL HOT deal if we can.

Another indication that they are 2 separate rebates is that expiration on the Staples rebate is Feb. 10th and the expiration on the Visioneer rebate is March 1st.

Hmmm... The Visioneer rebate says:
Offer is not valid in conjunction with ... reseller bundles, special reseller pricing, reseller inventory liquidations, ...

Sounds like it won't work.

You guys know about the other Staples deal going on for the VTEC 900MHz phone/answering machine:
V-tec phone thread

Its $80 with a $30 Staples MIR and a $30 V-Tec MIR.

So, it is similar in price and rebates to the Visioneer scanner.

So, if you buy each separately, and bump each order up to $100, you can use a different $30 off $100 on each order. So, each order is roughly:
+$80 - phone or scanner
+$20 - other stuff
-----------------------------
$100 - total
-$30 - coupon
-$30 - Staples MIR
-$30 - manufacturer MIR
------------------------------
$10 + tax final cost

Since you did this on both the scanner and the phone you got $200 worth of stuff for $20.

The Coppell, TX address is www.rebateshq.com which takes you to this Link.

Looks like the manufacturer's MIR requires the original UPC while the Staples MIR allows the copy. This is normal for a dual rebate. CompUSA does this from time to time.
