All I know is that there is a $30 rebate to an item that I just PRICEMATCHED @ Staples for $56.71 from the Sam's Receipt! GOOD LUCK PMIN' W/ IT! I was fortunate enuf to get it to werk...so maybe I'll get my MITSUMI for $31 after tax and rebate! What is that sayin' that everyone has about how sucky Staples is? as of right now...they are my friends!

Great deal! If you can get hte PM. Will staples PM an out of state sams receipt.....we do have a local sams club.
Another option would be to buy the drive from staples with amex blue andn have amex pM sams club if they will.
I don't have blue so will try the Pm. Woould love to Tanner's receipt.

Tanner, does your drive box have "smart burn" buffer under run? That's a lite-on give away.

Wow, great deal. I'm gonna try it out tomorrow. I can say that mitsumi drives are really good. I've had a 4802te for three years and it's never given me a problem. I just gave it to my aunt cause I got a 10x from a friend of mine that I fixed.

I don't know if you can do the AMEX blue PM method...I've done many AMEX matches and I've never had any problems, but I'm not sure if they would allow you to PM this because your receipt from staples will have a later date than that of Sam's Club's receipt which would make it look like you knew of the price at Sam's club before you bought it at Staples...but I'm not sure if that's one of their rules. Anyone have experience with this?

I guess that playing out the little drama that I had may help some of you out...

I went IN w/ the intention of using a $10 off of $10 coupon that I had printed off of FW. Well, after checkin' w/ the CSR, and her telling me that it was okay to use, I continued to walk around the store trying to find items for around that number. Later, I walked by the Hardware case and saw the Pacific Digital (PD) 24x10x40x for $119 (NOT knowing about the $30 rebate). So, I proceeded to make my way BACK to the CSR counter...and I asked if they PM stuff and they answered yes. For the sake of clarity, I asked exactly how this process worked. I asked specifically if they would PM a receipt. They answered er....uh....yes (I'm wondering if this is out of pity for me not getting to use my $10 off of $10 coupon).

In ANY case...they have a PRICE MATCHING POLICY...and its already strict enough that it must be the EXACT same model for them to PM it...[rant] and there's a HUGE sign as you walk in and probably all over the windows too saying 110% price guarantee!! Well, ask them if they stand behind it! If they're gonna play all kinds of hermenutics games, well then they don't need your business. If they wanna suddenly distinguish between "warehouse" and "just short of FREAKIN' huge office supply center" then let them...and leave! Go to BB and the the 16x w/ MIR or CC and get it! or maybe even find a Sam's that will PM the rebate or something...I know that OM will PM rebated deals from Staples and stuff ONSITE...so go do that! [/rant]

k...wheew....I'm venting...b/c I've been given the run around about 12 times by Staples and OD employees...it just feels sooooooooo good to have beaten them @ their own game!

So, do U see what I'm saying? It maybe a long shot...but if it worked for me...and I can get this receipt from my wife...well...maybe someone else will have the same fortunate outcome that I did...MAYBE EVEN w/ a LITE-ON! WAHO!
