Can anybody who bought at a Sam's club in SoCal please send me a scan of your receipt. I found a Staples that said they are willing to PM but they need a receipt since they don't want to call.

I went back to Staples and I was simply denied what was due to me(asian guy). I presented the manager(black man) two Staples and a Sam's receipt. He looked at the receipts with a puzzled look on his face. He even had the audacity to ask me why I din't buy the drive from Sam's in the first place instead from Staples if their price was lower. He then called somebody, someone he knew, but never bothered to call any of the stores on the receipts. I guess the guy on the other line checked their database to see if the receipts were legit or something. The manager then starts saying the clerks who authorized the PMs weren't doing their jobs. He would only PM if it was advertised not because it shows on the receipt. Also, the store would have to be within a certain mile radius.

The entire ordeal took about 15 minutes. The guy was RACIST is all I can say. When he saw an Asian guy, he knew that I was going to be easy. Needless to say I'm pretty down right now[sniffles! sniffles!]. Someone, please find me a gorgeous woman who will comfort me while I deal with this depression

<< Anyone use the burning software that comes with this drive? I'm thinking of picking up a copy of Nero or Roxio (Formerly Adaptec). Any advice would be appreciated.... >>



The software I got was called NTI CD-Maker.I swear it is like a hair off from being a total clone of Easy CD Creator(which doesn't support the newest Mitsubi I got BTW).Works like a charm with me.

I just wanted to stress to everyone once again to go to Staples website and print-out the Price Match Policy.I work in a retail business and I know how easy it is to blow the customer off with some BS if they donot have the facts straight.You might still get some lip from the manager,but the bottom line is the PM policy says NOTHING about what kind of store they do/donot accept and what radius/distance the PMed store must be within.You will need to point this line out,probably more than once.Without this PM print-out they can feed you all kinds of crap.

I got the NTI CD Maker too, and it was not werkin' very good for me...so I tried RecordNow Max 3.01 from www.Download.com It's a 30 day trial. HOWEVER...over the past 20 minutes, I've burned FOUR 70 Minute CDs FROM MP3

I have a PII 333 (laugh...go ahead...laugh) So, I guess that the SOFTWARE behind your burner makes all the diff. b/c I know that it's not the Processor OR NTI doing me any good!

I wanted to check with you guys about the Mitsumi's buffer size. There is a site linked below that reviewed this burner and said that it also comes in a 2mb buffer, I thought that it only came with a 16mb buffer. If you go into Nero and then choose recorder, the buffer size on mine says 2048. The screenshot that the guy gives in his review says 16384. What does yours say?

Well I downloaded the Nero InfoTool and it does say 2mb for me.

darkeneddays - my Mitsumi works fine in EZ CD Creator 5 - you just have to get the latest update from Roxio.

Yea it looks like the Mitsumi's do come with 2mb now. I guess the RAM prices going up didn't help, and/or, the 16mb version is for Europe.
But even Mitsumi's site says 2mb.

What's shady about it? They advertise that they pricematch at 110%. They use that as a draw to get customers. For them to have to back up thier own promises is only right. I don't see that its any different than expecting them to honor an advertised price on a product. Like the old saying goes "live by the sword, die by the sword".

spaceman check your email. I couldn't get this and so before I throw out my trash, you can use the one I got. Here in my area of so. California, the Staples "police" had been through the stores and made certain no one was getting this for the PM to Sam's.

has anyone else had any luck burning w/ NTI CD burner? I always have to have a program that converts MP3s to WAVs as it burns...or before or whatever...but I like the ones that do it as it goes like the one that i linked above.

Anyway, has anyone got the NTI to werk w/ their CDburner?

Guys if you want the rebates they should be at www.staplesrebates.com thats powered by rebateshq.com, usually if staples has a rebate for something itts on that website, and youre able to fill all the info out and then you have a claim # for your rebate etc.

Ok, i call local staples, they have <1> drive in stock, so i ask for a hold.
I get there, the girl looks and says "hey i have more than one" they had like 4. Im thinkin hey...its ebay time
We walk to the register, and i whip out the sams club receipt printout. She wobbles for a second, then goes away to talk to her manager. Comes back, says its a price club and needs a membership, and cant PM. WHAM! i whip out my staples receipt. She wobbles again, walks back to the manager, comes back saying "we can't pricematch receipts" so i go wth is going on, this is a staples receipt showing you staples price matched sam's and you still cant give me the price? the manager walks over says "Whoever did the pricematch to a receipt made a mistake, i am not going to repeat other's mistakes." I whip out two more printouts of different staples that PM'd, and he keeps teling me they are all wrong and he wont make any mistakes. God damn mofos. Never before did i have such a problem, they once PM'd a hard drive for me brought it down like $90 (from $170), no hassle or anything. damn it.

For those of you with the Lite-on version, you can go to their website http://www.liteonit.com.tw/english-load-firmware.htm . This has got to be about the slowest site I've been to since about 1992. The latest firmware supposedly takes care of most of the little problems with the drive. I've upgraded my firmware. I guess only time will tell.
