Is Arena Commander no longer buggy? How many different ships can be in one battle?

Are they actually selling any concept ships any more? I get that most backers are still enthusiastic, but at some point they have to realize putting more money into the game is foolish.

If AC isn't buggy today ... the racing module... the soon to be FPS.... it will be buggy again in the future. ... then not buggy..... then buggy again because they phase in new features like multi-crew play... larger area to battle... that's the WHOLE point of Alpha... being buggy and even trying to find bugs and report them via the Forum.

At most CR was expecting was $20 million... of course we will eventually reach $100 million. I'm glad there will be extra immersive features as the game is being developed.

Putting more pledge $$ is not foolish because that allows more resources to develop the game... maintain and expand the cloud servers.... hire even more people to finish the game faster or pay top $$ for more established programmers from Crytek for example.

There is a strategy to buying EVERY LTI ship CIG puts out because you should be able to make a 10% to 20% profit within a year of the concept sale ending.

I have 2 LTI Redeemers (package deals) I no longer wish to own. I should make a nice profit on them. So there is an investment angle in buying/backing the game.

Yea I spent quite a bit of time in AC. Even made a friendship or 2 with Missouri Backers. Once multi-crew play comes out gonna build my son (7yrs old) a SC gaming pc so he can turret gunner for me using Occulus Rift... plus I learned how to use and customize Voice Attack.

I'm not much of a FPS gamer but SQ 42 will be a game-changer once that debuts. I'm glad CR's brother is in charge of that mission. I bet the crowd funding $$ double on average until the PU is ready.

I also started using Voice Attack. It's going to a great way to control ship functions.

Just a rough observation... before the Derek Smart 'event' it seemed like we (*edit* - SC Backers) were averaging $13,000 TO $15,000...... appears to be averaging $17,000 to $18,000 the last week or so. Impressive

Looks like they "forgot" that the "impulse" from the gun hit was a one time event, but instead it continued for as long as the damage/impact location exists, creating a "permanent" thruster from that location.

Probably a very simple code change (most likely have the velocity thrust from a handheld weapon hit tied to the damage state instead of it being a one off function call at the time of impact, and/or there is a loop in the code that applies the movement vector from the weapon damage).

Pretty cool summary of Squadron 42 detailed by Chris Roberts. I finally get it now.... took me half a day to find this vid/info. He explains how the episodes will be released to Original Backers with the top 10 stretch goals.

Is there a summary or transcript? I don't want to give a view to a "shocking" clickbait video, even if it will teach me the One Weird Trick to space sims That's Taking GameStop By Storm!

It's another stupid post to a stupid youtube clickbait link that someone with an axe to grind wants some attention whoring time. Basically somebody trying to be funny by jumping on the Star Citizen hate bandwagon.

I think SQ42 is their ace. If they want to shut the doubters and haters up, all they really need to do is release details on SQ42......30 seconds of gameplay footage showing Mark Hamil would go a long way in validating that the funds are being used to make a great game.....

This is really what I would like to see. We've heard details about a lot of the work going into SQ42, but most (if not all) of the footage and demo reels have been for the PU.

I would really like to see some sort of trailer released before Q4.

No it is just a funny spoof made by a few fans of SC. Sometimes you have to laugh at our situation.

Chris Roberts was smart to convince his brother to take on the project. Erin is a gifted programmer with a natural talent to create 'fun' games. He was heavily involved in the Star Wars Lego games before joining CIG.

CR didnt have an easy time of it. Erin was a little skeptical of the project himself... but once he saw the $millions$ roll in... he knew they had the resources to pull it off and do it right.

If Star Citizen ends up being a dud I'll still be satisfied if SQ42 is good. Of course, I didn't pledge thousands of dollars in space ships either sooooo....

Bullshit!

That's what Chris says......

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/14839-Letter-From-The-Chairman

For the lazy:

"You all know that already; you’ve lived that. You’ve seen Star Citizen evolve and start to come together. You’ve watched our atoms form molecules, our modules form a real, playable game (that you can boot up and play today!). There are people out there who are going to tell you that this is all a BAD THING. That it’s ‘feature creep’ and we should make a smaller, less impressive game for the sake of having it out more quickly or in order to meet artificial deadlines. Now I’ll answer those claims in one word: Bullshit!

Star Citizen matters BECAUSE it is big, because it is a bold dream. It is something everyone else is scared to try. You didn’t back Star Citizen because you want what you’ve seen before. You’re here and reading this because we are willing to go big, to do the things that terrify publishers. You’ve trusted us with your money so we can build a game, not line our pockets. And we sure as hell didn’t run this campaign so we could put that money in the bank, guarantee ourselves a profit and turn out some flimsy replica of a game I’ve made before. You went all in supporting us and we’ve gone all in making the game. Is Star Citizen today a bigger goal than I imagined in 2012? Absolutely. Is that a bad thing? Absolutely not: it’s the whole damn point."

The last 24 hours have seen a flood of information from CIG....between this letter and the associated 1.5 hour long "10 for the Chairman"....lots of interesting information.

I'm excited about SQ42.

"Be anyone do anything" lmao

Do you have any idea how long that would take to create? Not to mention how impossibly impossible it would be to do it.

For instance, I want to space poison people so they have to shit our their intestines into the completely accurate space toilet piping systems in the $450 space ship.

"Do anything without doing anything" - the dream of the neckbeard

Maybe you'll be able to do that by sneaking aboard a starliner and spiking the player run drink machine...
